Highlights NMH vs KUA
NMH traveled to play an explosive, organized, and undefeated KUA squad on a brilliant fall day. The hosts jumped on the board first when they converted a serve that caught NMH flat and incommunicado. NMH had three or four point blank opportunities but couldn't' find the back of the net. With twelve minutes to go in the half and NMH seizing more and more possession at midfield, the Hoggers made a series of one touch passes that ended with a perfectly paced ball by Johnny Mendoza to a streaking Medina who pushed the ball past the sliding keeper to tie the game. Six minutes later Diego Rossi fed Medina along the right edge and he turned the corner, drew several defenders, and found Gus Santos at the far post; Santos looked over his options and calmly drilled a shot through a maze of players and put NMH ahead 2-1. The second half was a reversal of fortunes as KUA began to out hustle NMH for first and second balls and began to find their dangerous players closer to the NMH goal. After about twelve minutes of uninspired chaos, NMH slowly began to regain their composure and commitment. Henry Ault and Fritz Windover played particularly well when defending midfield while Cade Halkyard and Dan Discenza anchored the edges and played mistake free balls out of the back. NMH eventually pushed their lead to 3-1 when Mendoza once gain pushed a delicate through ball on the turf and Medina out ran the defense and the keeper before nudging it home.
