Less than a year ago, I had the pleasure and privilege to conduct these world class musicians in a great program, including Carmina Burana. On that occasion, I also discovered a very unique community. Since then there's been meetings, rehearsals, visits from the representatives from the orchestra and together we explored furthermore this idea of collaborating closer together. Today, I am very proud to join the great team of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra; and together we are going to work to enhance artistry, grow our audience, and build a stronger future for our orchestra. Our musicians are so passionate about music making and so dedicated to give the best to our audiences. Celine Dion has ALWAYS been such a huge inspiration to me. I've grown up listening to her music and singing along with her songs. Although I am an American, I have French-Canadian anchestry. I remember singing her songs with my Memere and saying that some day I would be a singer, just like Celine, and that someday I would get to sing with her! My memere passed in September of '06, and to this day, when I hear this song (or sing it) it gets hard not to cry, because it reminds me of her.
