The final part from the first episode of the new gameshow 'The Chase' which is hosted by Bradley Walsh. Four contestants must face a quiz genius, either, Mark Labbett or Shaun Wallace - both of whom have years of quizzing experience and knowledge to their name. Their job each day is to try and eliminate each member of the 4-strong team who take it in turns to face 'The Chaser' to try and accumulate money. Get the questions wrong though and 'The Chaser' will catch up with you and eliminate you from the game. This is the final segment from the game where the remaining contestants must face 'The Chaser' in a 2 minute 'Chase Off'. The contestants must answer as many questions as they can in 2 minutes. It is then the turn of 'The Chaser' - Mark Labbett or Shaun Wallace - to answer as many questions as they can in 2 minutes. If 'The Chase answers more questions correctly than the contestants they go home with nothing. If the contestants manage to beat 'The Chase' they spilt the money accumulated from the earlier rounds.

Part 1 from the very first episode of ITV1's quiz show 'The Chase'. The show, hosted by Bradley Walsh, premiered on ITV1 on the 2nd July 2009 in the 5PM afternoon slot. The show was commissioned for a short 10 episode run to gauge the viewers reaction to the show and test out a new format. Another show tested by ITV1 in the same slot for 2 weeks was 'The Fuse' hosted by Austin Healey. The Fuse, however, burnt out...(sorry) and was not commissioned for a second series. The Chase though proved more popular and was brought back in 2010 for a full length series running for 40 episodes this time instead of the 10 episodes of series one. The show sees a group of 4 contestants take on a quiz genius of either Mark Labbett or Shaun Wallace (Anne Hegerty was introduced as a third Chaser for series 2). Each contestant takes part in a 60 second quick-fire round of questions from Bradley. Each question right earns them £1000 for the prize fund. At the end of the 1 minute the total amount they won is put on the board and Bradley introduces the Chaser. The contestant must then make a choice they can either stick on the board at the amount they won, two steps (or questions) away from the Chaser. The Chaser though makes a contestant two offers, one which is really low (ranging from as low as £50 or so to upto £4000 dependent on how much you earned in the quick-fire round), but puts you a further step away from the Chaser (a total of 3). The other is much higher and more generous offer <b>...</b>
