
Dream Gold Medalist and Duke Standout Christian Laettner. While at Duke he played and started in four consecutive Final Four Tournaments. At Duke he averaged 16.6 point, 7.7 rebounds and is the all-time three-point shooting percentage leader at Duke with 48.5%. Laettner holds NCAA tournament records in four different categories including; most points scored, most free throws made, most free throw attempts and most games played. In addition to his personal achievements, Laettner was a starting member of two Duke NCAA champion teams in both 1991 and 1992 where he famously hit a last-second, back-to-the-basket, turn-around, game-winning jump shot against Kentucky in the East regional final. In 1992, Laettner was selected to represent his country as part of the USA Olympic "Dream Team" held in Barcelona, Spain. Laettner was the only college player selected to the team that included other all-time great basketball players Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, John Stockton, Karl Malone and Patrick Ewing. Laettner led the Olympic team in free throw percentage (90%) as the team seemed to effortlessly defeat opponents by an average of nearly 44 points per game.
