Latest Libyan News - Will A Civil War Start Now?

Even though Britain is an antagonist in this Libyan war - Gaddafi loyalist Libyans still return to London to continue their education, and they bring their frontline stories with them. Unlike Tripoli, Sirte, Bani Walid and Sabha might not fall so quickly, perhaps because they are demographically more homogeneous societies. Donations: www.paypal.com

End game nigh in Libya's civil war

Libyan fighters remain poised to claim the last bastions of Muammer Gaddafi's moribund regime. National Transitional Council forces continue to pound the town of Bani Walid, which contains around one thousand well armed and well trained Gaddafi loyalists and mercenaries. Those opposed to Gaddafi believe that one or two of the ousted leaders sons are holed up in Bani Walid. They also warned an attack on the colonel's hometown of Sirte is imminent. ... www.euronews.net

Libya's Civil War And Unsecured Weapons Of Mass Destruction

The conflict that has ended Moammer Gadhafi's 42-year rule has thrown open the gates to his extensive armories and weapons of mass destruction, bought with massive amounts of oil money with much of it from western countries. What could possibly happen with all of those weapons of mass destruction if they fall into the wrong hands? Is this not a good question to ask?

Libya on the verge of civil war

Intense fighting has continued across Libya with both government and opposition groups claiming success. In Misrata, where rebels say they beat back Gaddafi's forces, it's thought at least 18 people were killed with many hundreds wounded. The UN has called for immediate access to give medical assistance. While the rebels have claimed Misrata and Zawiyah, it appears to be a different story in Bin Jawad where they were forced to retreat. ... www.euronews.net

Corbyn: UK judge & jury in Libya, bogged down deep in civil war

Britain now officially recognizes Libya's rebels as the legitimate government, and has expelled Colonel Gaddafi's diplomats. It's also unfreezing 150 million dollars of Libyan oil assets to help fund the rebels. Tripoli insists it will not enter peace talks to end the four-months-long civil war until NATO stops its air strikes. UN talks with the rebels in Benghazi also making little progress towards a ceasefire. RT gets some insight on this from Jeremy Corbyn, who is a British opposition MP and peace campaigner. Obama Asks Saudi Arabia To Arm Libyan Civil War And Stage Fake Protests

The oil companies told you gas would be $5 a gallon this summer last year on Bloomberg. But this is all driven on destabilization of governments "by the people". How could they know that? All this bs can drive the price of commodities and markets. Libya is not an American state and not the US taxpayers business. Obama is subverting foreign governments, and it is not because he is concerned about people. His fruits in Afghanistan and Iraq are well known, the Nobel Peace Prize warlord. Obama has personally ordered the killing of more people than Gadaffi has in 40 years. (Important Backstory) Nov. 19, 2010 Critics Slam Obama Administration for 'Hiding' Massive Saudi Arms Deal Largest Arms Deal In US History Pushed While Congress In Recess Nov. 2010. Obama sold $60 Billion in arms to Saudi Arabia a few months ago, the largest deal of it's kind ever. The Obama administration has quietly forged ahead with its proposal to sell $60 billion worth of fighter jets and attack helicopters to Saudi Arabia unhampered by Congress, despite questions raised in legislative inquiries and in an internal congressional report about the wisdom of the deal. "Our six-decade-long security relationship with Saudi Arabia is a primary security pillar in the region," Defense Sec. Robert M. Gates and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton wrote in a Nov. 16 letter to congress. "This package continues that tradition." Fears Libya's revolt may become civil war

There are fears that Libya's uprising against Muammar Gaddafi's rule is turning into a protracted civil war. Witnesses say government forces have recaptured the town of Bin Jawad from the rebels. Anti-government fighters claim to be in control of Zawiyah just 50 kilometres west of the capital Tripoli, but forces loyal to the Libyan leader have been counter-attacking with considerable power. Rebel leaders said they fought off three assaults by government tanks and infantry over the weekend, each one bigger than the last. ... www.euronews.net

Slippery Slope: 'Bloody civil war or boots on ground NATO choices in Libya'

The Libyan rebels are condemning NATO's lack of action in the country, claiming the Alliance is not doing enough to protect civilians. Despite the coalition's efforts, Gaddafi's forces renewed their offensive, with violence continuing in the city of Misrata, where residents have been under siege from government forces over the last 40 days. Libyan Civil War - Oil Refinery Burns March 10

(RT) Gaddafi's scorched earth: Libya's skies turn black as desperate dictator blows up oil pipes and turns his tanks on civilians Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk "Colonel Gaddafi's forces today blasted an oil terminal to smithereens as Libya's bloody civil war entered its blackest day. Rebels retaliated by firing back with rockets as a fireball exploded from one of the oil tanks and the sky above the Es Sider terminal, in the east of the country, filled with hideous smoke. A witness said one of the smoke plumes was the biggest he had seen in the conflict so far. "The fresh onslaught came as Gaddafi deployed tanks and snipers to 'shoot anything that moves'. Forces loyal to the Libyan dictator poured into the city of Zawiyah in a desperate bid to oust the hardcore band of protesters and army defectors who have taken control."
