A series of videos showing the E60 M5 SMG's launch control. The first run in the video which produces lots of smoke was filmed by me, that is to say I was not behind the wheel of the car, so the launch procedure was aborted for some reason and that's why there was so much tyre smoke as it was essentially back in manually launch mode whereby the throttle needs to be modulated to keep spin under control. The subsequent runs were all driven by me, there was one instance where it bounced off the limited when it should have auto changed up through the gears for me, this might be because my clutch was on it's way out and in fact my clutch went by the end of this day (see my other YouTube videos). New Porsche 997 Turbo at the world press launch in Estoril, Portugal accelerating from 0-200km/h. In car video and data provided by the new Racelogic Video VBOX Lite (www.videovbox.co.uk) which was the official video and timing equipment supplied by Porsche, they were using 8 in total. This was the PDK version with the Sports Chrono Package and is demonstrating the superb launch control facility. We did 7 such launch control starts, one after the other, and they were all timed at 3.21s, 3.24s, 3.20s, 3.27s etc. Very repeatable, and seemingly bomb-proof! This was the cabrio version which is a bit heavier than the coupe.

The assembly of Tamiya's "Lunch Box" RC Monster Truck Kit. We built it the weekend of January 12-13, 2008. This model was originally brought out in 1987 and Tamiya did a re-release, probably to celebrate the 20 year anniversary in 2007. This is the first RC model we have assembled. It is a joy to work with. Building it and running it is a LOT of fun. I would recommend any RC enthuiast to build a model from the kit so you get to know the engineering of it. This knowledge is invaluable when you have to diagnose or repair or upgrade your vehicle. The large tyres give it great clearance from any small obstacles on the road and the bright yellow colour reflects our hot Caribbean Sun here in Trinidad brilliantly!
