The zoom h4n has no sync issues at all, and has a time and date stamp on each file which is great for matching up audio it will be replacing my zoom h4 as my most used field recorder. I have the Zoom h4n set in 4 channel mode so that i can use both microphones and the zoom h4n's on board mic's at the same time. The mic is plugged into an edirol r44 recorder. the mic is mounted on a rode blimp system with the blimp cover removed. the video was shot on a standard handheld digicam, the mic occasioanlly drops into shot as this was a test and i was listening to the sound from varying distances.

A showreel of some of my sound design work and details on how the sound design was created. All work has involved a substantial amount of Foley, SFX creation, ADR, editing and mixing in Pro Tools, Logic, Soundhack, and Amadeus Pro. The showreel includes 4 animations, 1 short and the trailer for a feature film. 1) Train of Thought - A stop motion animation created with paper. The sound creation for this involved extensive foley work as the directors wanted the paper sounds to be part of the sonic environment but not overpower the realistic sounds in the mix. The train SFX were recordings I made of a local steam railway over a series of recording sessions using a Sennheiser ME66 and my Zoom H4n. All the sound was mixed in Pro Tools. The film recently won Best Experimental Animation at the Animex awards. Here is my brand new Gibson 2008 Les Paul Standard in Iced Tea. The left audio channel is from a Sennheiser ME66 microphone pointing at the guitar (so you can hear the buzzing). The right audio channel is from a Shure SM57 directly in front of a Pignose Legendary 7-100 amplifier running on battery power. Hear it best with headphones. It seems to have a lot of fret buzzing on the low (#4, #5 & #6) strings. I made this video to demonstrate. Is this "normal" or acceptable? I got the guitar from Sweetwater, who supposedly checks everything out (including buzzing) during their 55-Point Evaluation. The neck was very straight when I received it (maybe .002" to .004" clearance on the low E string when fretted at the first & last frets). I gave the truss rod ~1/8 to 1/4 turn to add a tad more relief--it's now at about .008". The action was set at about 4/64" on the low E side. I raised it up (against my will...) to about 5/64" and this is how it sounds. Admittedly, I do play with a heavy hand... but, come on! By the way, I am a beginner--got my first guitar just over one month ago. I'm just trying to learn as much as I possibly can.
