Hawker Hurricane MkI
The Hawker Hurricane is a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was designed and predominantly built by Hawker Aircraft Ltd for the Royal Air Force (RAF). Although largely overshadowed by the Supermarine Spitfire, the aircraft became renowned during the Battle of Britain, accounting for 60% of the RAF's air victories in the battle, and served in all the major theatres of the Second World War. The 1930s design evolved through several versions and adaptations, resulting in a series of aircraft which acted as interceptor-fighters, fighter-bombers (also called "Hurribombers"), and ground support aircraft. Further versions known as the Sea Hurricane had modifications which enabled operation from ships. Some were converted as catapult-launched convoy escorts, known as "Hurricats". More than 14000 Hurricanes were built by the end of 1944 (including about 1200 converted to Sea Hurricanes and some 1400 built in Canada by the Canada Car and Foundry). Su-30MKI www.sukhoi.org is a long-range, high-endurance, heavy-class Air Dominance Fighter with multi mission capabilities. It is currently the most advanced version of Su-27 Flanker flying anywhere in the world. The Su-27, which was first produced in the Former Soviet Union starting 1982 is counted among the world's best fighter aircraft even without any upgardes; but some of the the technology and capability that the Su-30MKI boasts has absolutely no parallels across the world's air forces. The Su-30MKI gives its operator, the Indian Air Force, a capability that will remain unmatched by all rivals for the forseeable future. ######### World aviation today cannot be conceived of without the Su-27, a legendary aircraft. The Su-27 which formed the basic platform that has spawned countless derivatives has became the core of Russia's combat aviation and Russian arms exports today. Electronic countermeasures Sukhoi Su-30MKI has electronic counter-measure systems. The RWR system is of Indian design, developed by India's DRDO, called Tarang, (Wave in Sanskrit). It has direction finding capability and is known to have a programmable threat library. The RWR is derived from work done on an earlier system for India's MiG-23BNs known as the Tranquil, which is now superseded by the more advanced Tarang series. Elta EL/M-8222 a self-protection jammer developed by Israel Aircraft Industries is the MKI's standard EW pod, which the Israeli Air Force uses on its F-15s. The ELTA El/M-8222 Self Protection Pod is a power-managed jammer, air-cooled system with an ESM receiver integrated into the pod. The pod contains an antenna on the forward and aft ends, which receive the hostile RF signal and after processing deliver the appropriate response. Radar The forward facing NIIP N011M Bars (Panther) is a powerful integrated passive electronically scanned array radar. The N011M is a digital multi-mode dual frequency band radar.[38] The N011M can function in air-to-air and air-to-land/sea mode simultaneously while being tied into a high-precision laser-inertial or GPS navigation system. It is equipped with a modern digital weapons control system as well as anti-jamming features. N011M has a 350 km search range and a maximum 200 km tracking range, and 60 km in the rear hemisphere. Introduced in 1888 as the Magazine Rifle MkI, it was upgraded in 1891 to use the new smokeless powder instead of the original black powder. This is the first English bolt action, magazine-loading service rifle, and is the grandfather of the later .303 Lee Enfield rifles. A gem!

IAF'S SUKHOI 30 MKI AND GARUD COMMANDOS AT RED FLAG EXERCISE, 2008
The IAF's most modern fighters have come at the invitation of US Air Force to participate in a multinational Red Flag air combat exercise, to be held at Nellis AFB in August. Prior to Red Flag, the IAF is spending a few weeks at Mountain Home to hone its combat skills and adjust to USAF operating procedures. While in Idaho, the Sukhois are flying with F-15 Eagles of Mountain Home's resident 366th Fighter Wing and the F-16s of the 18th Aggressor Squadron from Eielson AFB, Alaska. The SU-30 MKI fighters are from No.20 "Lightnings" Squadron, based at Lohegaon Air Force Station, Pune. The tankers are from No.78 "Valorous MARS" Squadron, based at Agra Air Force Station, Agra. (MARS stands for "Mid-Air Refuelling Squadron.") The transport aircraft is from No.44 "Mighty Jets" Squadron, at Sonegaon Air Force Station, Nagpur.

My DIY Overkill MKI Motorized / Timelapse Dolly
Here is a dual purpose Motorized Dolly I made, It can be used as a time lapse dolly or a motor dolly with the appropriate controller. The time lapse engine is from Dynamic Perception. The joystick motor controller is my own design. I will post more details later. I got the joystick off ebay. Look for "potentiometer joystick" They are used for security camera controllers and claw crane games. The motor controller is from www.basicmicro.com Belts are 3/8" XL series from, shop.polybelt.com The 12 volt gear motor came from. www.drillspot.com The pulleys and belts are XL series for 3/8" wide belts. The outside diameter of the pulleys is 2 inch. The shafts, flanged bearings, and shaft collars are all 5/16". The shaft collars have set screws which makes them easy to install. All the drive components were purchased from Amazon.com www.amazon.com Hardware can be purchased locally also. I purchased the 80/20 aluminum extrusion from eBay "80/20 Garage Sale", they sell 80/20 with slight defects in color or minor handling marks for much less then on their normal web store. SUKHOI 30 MKI IN WAR GAMES OUTSIDE INDIA WITH RAF, FAF
Indra Dhanush 2007 featured highly advanced combatants on both sides. On one side is Britain's Eurofighter Typhoon, whose advanced aerodynamics and intuitive controls and avionics have led to studies like the UK DERA rating it as the second-best air superiority aircraft in the world. Its supporting cast includes 1980s era Tornado F3 air defense variants, and upgraded GR9 Harriers from the Royal Navy. On the other side is India's SU-30MKI, the most evolved variant of Sukhoi's outstanding Flanker family, with aerodynamics that allow unique maneuvers, and full thrust vectoring besides. Between June 14th and 25th 2010 Base Aerienne 125 Istres-Le-Tube saw the arrival of the mighty SU-30 once again, this time in the shape of the more potent Sukhoi SU-30MKI, which arrived at Istres for Garuda IV. The Sukhoi SU-30MKI's that arrived at Istres from 8 Squadron, departed the Central Air Command base at Air Force Station Bareilly on the afternoon of 7th June led by Group Captain J. Mishra. The fighter and tanker aircraft involved re-positioned to Ahmedabad and the contingent arrived there on 8th June. The launch sequence from Ahmedabad was in three cells consisting of an IL-78MKI (callsign Astra) with two Su-30MKI in Cell1, an IL-78MKI (callsign Titan) with two Su-30MKI in Cell 2, and a third IL-78MKI (callsign PLUTO) with two Su-30MKI forming the final cell.

Rhodes MKI '79 - Wooden keys - Testing after restoration
Today i got my Rhodes up and running again! It was in restoration for the last 3 months. One key needs some extra service, it sounds like the hammer touches the damper module or bridle strap. Then there are some small details to fix. I renewed all hammer tips, felt, two hammers, some pickups, tines and tolex. Adjusting the Guide pins for the action and tightening the keys. Then the (stretch) tuning and adjusting starts, just the way i like the sound the most. Deep and dynamic, warm and round, not to agressive (only when necessary) Maybe some little extra tuning and then it's done. Enjoy this great Rhodes sound!

TheIndian Air Force IAF for the first time showcased it's night attack capability publicly in the Pokhran desert, India during Vayu Shakti 2010. India's most advanced jet Su-30 mki is supposed to be penetrating the enemy country, the message to India's neighbors were unmistakable. In Vayu Shakti 2010, IAF The Indian Air Force demonstrated the UAV (Unmanned Arial Vehicle) technology. There were 107 aircrafts Mig-21 Bison, Mig-27, Mig-29, Mirage-2000, Su-30 MKI, Jaguars; transport aircraft - AN-32, IL-76, Embraer and helicopters Mi-17 1V, Mi-35 gunships participated in the Vayu Shakti 2010 exercise. Other unseen force multipliers included IL-78 MKI mid-air refuellers, AWACS and UAV. Counter air operations and counter surface force operations were two major aspects of IAF earlier today. IAF Vayu Shakti 2010 was a breathtaking display of rapid air power dominance by blasting away targets by day, dusk and night in a fire power demonstration exercise.
