Decided to whip out my old copy of Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo 64 to have a bit of fun. Here you can see a time trial of the Rainbow Road track with Luigi as the character. Using the short cut can make the trip around much quicker and it's fun to do as well.:) It works against the computer during the Grand Prix, the time trial or in multiplayer. Takes a bit of practice but once you get the hang of it you too will be able to accomplish it. Please go easy on my skills. I know I'm no pro and I haven't played this game in what seems like 5 years. This was purely for fun and to show the short cut to the few that never saw it or haven't played this. Enjoy!! And yes this was played on the actual N64, not the Wii Virtual Console. This video was made before the game was even on the VC :).

Time for another Mario Kart playthrough! This time I put the pedal to the metal in Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo 64. This is part 1 of me racing through the Mushroom Cup in the 150cc class and I am playing as Mario. Keep in mind that this is a re-do of my last Mario Kart 64 playthrough. My last playthrough was so crappy I deleted it from YouTube. :P This remade playthrough is much better because the sound quality is actually good, I play as different characters in each cup (just like I did in my other Mario Kart playthroughs), and I am playing in a higher engine class! I do make some screw-ups in 150cc in this game though, so bear with me. This was played on the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console, recorded with my DVD recorder, and edited with Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum Edition.

Hidden loop of music in Mario Kart 64! To play the music in game, you've got to wait 50 minutes (approx.) on the results screen after a race. Crazy, huh? That's what I told my brother when he told me about this! (Credit for finding the tune goes to him) ******** EDIT 2: ******** (early edit is below) Alright, now I'm pretty sure this was stuck in there on purpose. It plays after exactly 64 loops of the "normal" tune. That is just too darned significant to be coincidental, don't you think? That Nintendo! They're just so canny, aren't they? ****** EDIT: ******* Hey, notice a lot of people coming on in, "NintendoEverything"? Cool~ I like little doodads like this as much as the next guy, but I got to thinking it's probably a coding error of some sort. Take a listen to how it goes: in this video I play the regular loop once, it lasts around 50 seconds, the hidden loop seems to last a lot longer, but it's really just repeating itself twice - at about 50 seconds each. That may be neat and all, but so what, right? Well, consider the official CD release which for this piece plays the normal loop (A) twice, and the then the hidden loop (B), twice. So, in-game, it likely was supposed to be a "AABBAABB..." affair and for whatever reason, the second loop got messed up and only did it's "BB" bit about 50 minutes down the line. Still, just conjecture and open to speculation, but I think it's a little too complex and fits in perfectly as a complement to the regular loop making it great <b>...</b>
