Formed in 1985, they released their first album, Bares y Fondas (Bars and Boardinghouses) in 1986. Since then they have released fourteen more albums. Bullfight Goes Terribly Wrong For Matador As He Gets Gored Through His Throat In Front Of Horrified Crowd (Video) Matador Julio Aparicio Gored Through Chin During Madrid Bullfight A matador cheated death by millimetres when the beast he was tormenting rammed its horn straight through his chin and out through his mouth. It only took a split second for Julio Aparicio to became the bull's bloody victim at a Madrid bullring. The animal had already been pierced with several banderillas and was close to being killed when he seized his chance of revenge. Aparicio stumbled and the angry beast charged at him, prompting the crowd at the Las Ventas bullring to gasp in horror - expecting the bull to rip off the fighter's jaw or even his head. Remarkably, the beast stepped back and his horn slipped out of the matador's face as swiftly as it had entered. Aparicio fell to the ground in shock, with blood pouring from his gaping wound. Ringside medics rushed him to hospital where leading surgeon Dr Maximo Garcia Pedros performed two operations which saved his life. I wrote the Matador song in Mexico, in December, 1978. Very influenced by the atmosphere, the lyrics seemed to roll right off my tongue with amazing ease. Anything sophisticated such as references to Goya, and Barcelona came along later. The basics were all there - I knew I had a special song but never would I think it would become such a great hit internationally (but for some strange reason, it was never released as a single in the US) . For me, Matador continues my personal love and connection to "Spanish" type songs like "Spanish Town", and later "El Salvador", "Spanish Manners", "Spanish Blood" and in the future "Spanish Steps" perhaps. Minus are proud to present the newest member of the family, in the form of Matador. In the past four years Gavin Lynch's sounds have found a home on Perc Trax and Cocoon, plus most recently on Plus 8 , where Richie Hawtin recently introduced the young Dubliner ahead of his first Minus event (at Berlin's Watergate, joining the Minus team for the official Fly Bermuda after party), with his stellar remix of Bryan Zentz's D-Clash. After that introductory taste, Matador now takes the bull by the horns for his first full EP for Minus, exploring the twisted but organic techno sound he's best known for. This video is my "reimagining" of the visual effects from the classic 1967 "Star Trek" episode "The Doomsday Machine". I am the sole creator of all of the models and images you see in the revised visual effects sequences. I started this project way back in 2005, long before Paramount and CBS Home Video got the bright idea in their heads to remaster the original series in high definition and with new CGI effects. Well, that project, which involved 79 episodes (eighty if you count "The Cage" pilot episode) has started and finished (and they did a great job!) in the time it's taken me to get not quite halfway through one episode. Admittedly, I picked what is arguably the most effects-heavy episode in the original series, and they had a small platoon of people working around the clock, whereas I'm one amateur hobbyist working in his scattered free time... but still--five years??!
