DIRECTOR'S CUT The Matches "What Katie Said" Music Video directed by Lady Ransom www.ladyransom.com Lady Ransom was commissioned by The Matches to shoot the video for What Katie Said. The video was shot on January 13th and 14th of 2007. Because of low budget restraints, the post effects were started but never finished by an fx artist who was doing the work for free in his spare time. Unfortunately the visual fx artist committed to the job but could not finish, forcing a huge delay in release. The band in July of 2007 took over the post fx and Lady Ransom hired, Jason Forman to finish their director's cut. The band has the same exact footage. Our director's cut was finished mid February of 2008. This video isn't leaked by any means, it's sole purpose is to showcase the directors work, as negotiated with the label and the band. Because of the delay in release, and the timing it had with the band's release of their new album and new music video, they weren't going to release anything off the old album. The timing was terrible and the delay was extremely unfortunate. With respect of the new album coming out, Lady Ransom in good faith with Epitaph did not make public their Director's cut until now. We hope however that the Matches fans out there like this video! The Matches are very talented and were great to work with and we wish them all the best luck with their new album. These are the Storm Proof matches from REI that easily surpass every other match stick claiming to be an excellent "wilderness" match. Unlike other matches that only have a wax coat over the sulfur to keep it "waterproof", these matches have more than half the stick covered in sulfur making it virtually impossible to snuff. These matches will burn in the most extreme conditions. Albeit highly unlikely that you would be able to start a fire in such conditions you can rest assured that the match itself will not fail. We put the match through a couple torture tests pushing the most extreme climates of gale force winds, monsoon rain storms and the complete abscence of oxygen. Even burying the match in muddy water was not enough to stop the sulfur from burning. These matches are an excellent addition to any survival situation or backpacking trip when the need for fire is priority one. Although somewhat expensive compared to regular matches, the peace of mind they bring is an invaluable asset. Furthermore, the money saved when you don't have to buy a water proof storage container more than compensates the price. They are about 6 bucks at any REI store.

Arjun is playing in the 20-20 cricket match between the teams of Victoria and Pilani while Nakul is playing a cricket match on the street. Following an argument, Arjun's team coach threatens to put another player before Arjun. Nakul sets off from home to Victoria Sports Academy. Will Nakul reach in time for the match? This is a story about two young men who both have a common dream of becoming India's next cricket superstar. Besides that, Nakul and Arjun have little in common. The star of the cricket academy Arjun inherits his father's throne and is popular and wealthy whereas Nakul, the only child of a single mother has struggled to realise his dream. They both meet and what unfolds is a series of revelations which make Nakul's struggle much more meaningful and poignant. While the youngsters struggle to find their places in the world, the adults are left to deal with the consequences of decisions they made years ago. Nakul's father --Raghuveer Rai and mother Leela Rai were college sweethearts. When Leela becamepregnant during their senior year, she was devastated by Raghuveer's decision to put his own life and career first. WhenRaghuveer's dream of a cricket career didn't work out, he returned to town with his new wife and his newborn son, Arjun. After some years when Leela returns to Goa with Nakul, all the memories come back to haunt her.
