A 10 Minute Melodrama
A movie adaption of the original play, "A 10 Minute Melodrama," written by Ryan Soberg of Viterbo University. Synopsis: The setting of the movie takes place in 1900 England. A 'love triangle' of sorts between family members and friends produces great tension in the relationships of all involved. Eventually, the tension snaps the patience of the evil Andre who is on a mission to kill David, who has the love of his desired lover, Sandra. Will Andre complete his mission and eliminate his rival, David? Play written by Ryan Soberg. Co-directed by Meredith Gifford and Bryan Beneker. Movie edited by Bryan Beneker. Starring Charlie Gillette as David, Ryan Readio as Andre, Laura Savage as Sandra, and Emily Therrien as Maria. The play and movie was written and produced in the Fine Arts Center of Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Original piano music from a silent film rehearsal set here to a slide show of photographs from the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival Melodrama. The rehearsal was recoded with a Yamaha U-1 acoustic studio piano. Popular themes of the silent film era make up the score with only a brief break away into the shameless ripping off of a theme from an early Rick Wakeman album. Courtesy of Summer Jam 09, Nagaland Melodrama band from Dimapur, after winning the 1st runner up place in National Campus Rock Idol (NCRI) 09. The band besides receiving cash prize of Rs 50, 000 also received equipments and other prizes like acoustic guitar, bass guitar, guitar bags, guitar kits, drums, keyboards stand & bag, amps. etc., and are soon to receive 10 more latest item by the end of this month. Melodrama Band, winner of the 4th Best of the Best Rock contest 2008 organized and sponsored by Mind Blowers Club (MBC) Dimapur, has made its way to the National Campus Rock Idol final to be held at Hyderabad on February 7 after winning the Eastern Zone Campus Rock Idols on January 17 at Kolkata. Earlier the band bagged the 1st runner up title at the Regional Campus Rock Idol on January 10. Melodrama, the new death metal version was formed in the year 2008, and they have already bagged the 1st runner-up title in Summer Jam 2008, 1st Runners-up of Nagaland and Music Safari in Dimapur, winner of 'All Nagaland Best of the Best Open Beat Contest' and also the finalist in 'National Hornbill Rock Contest 2008'. The band members comprise of vocalist Imlinungsang Jamir, guitar and back-up Imnok, lead guitarist Among Jinger, bassist Sashimeren Pongen, and drummer Wapang Walling. Blue Moon was the only Rodgers and Hart song to become a hit, that was not written for a show or movie; but Blue Moon has a remarkable history. The lyric that we are familiar with was the fourth... here's the story: Rodgers and Hart were under contract to MGM for about a month when they were given the task of writing songs for the "Hollywood Party". They were told every MGM star would be in it, Disney was making a technicolor cartoon to stick in the middle of it, and it was to be the big screwball comedy "to end all screwball comedies" to quote Richard Rodgers... "One of our ideas was to include a scene in which Jean Harlow is shown as an innocent young girl saying - or rather singing- her prayers. How the sequence fitted into the movie I haven't the foggiest notion, but the purpose was to express Jean's overwhelming ambition to become a movie star ('Oh Lord, if you're not busy up there,/I ask for help with a prayer/ So please don't give me the air...')." The scene was never shot, no sound checks were ever made, and in fact, only three of the dozen or so Rodgers and Hart songs written for the film made it to the screen. So MGM Song #225 is dated June 14, 1933, and was registered for copy-right as an unpublished work by MGM, JULY 10, 1933. The remarkable saga of "Prayer" epitomizes what Rodgers and Hart went througn when they were under contract to Metro. In its second life the "Prayer"/"Blue Moon" tune was given a new lyric and became the title song of the 1934 MGM film <b>...</b>
