While other makers turn to photoshops, the Bavarian firm went ahead and developed an actual car, going as far as testing it on the Nurburgring race track. The sport ute packs the same 420-horsepower 4.0-liter V8 engine under the bonnet as the rest of the M3 range, which includes the Coupe, Convertible and Sedan models, adding a rear-axle load capacity of up to 450 kilos or 992 pounds. The load bed itself is clad in high-grade structured aluminium sheeting and provides the biggest cargo capacity ever offered on a M vehicle -- up to 20 standard 46-inch golf bags, according to BMW. It's also the first M3 to be equipped with a trailer tow hitch. BMW said the kerb weight of the pickup undercuts that of the M3 Convertible by around 50 kilograms or 110 pounds. Interestingly, BMW's designers also fitted the M3 Pickup Truck with a Targa top, which shaves another 20kg or 44 pounds and at the same time, lowers the car's centre of gravity when removed. Mercedes-Benz has revealed the 2012 C63 AMG Coupe ahead of its public debut at the New York Auto Show next month - finally a true competitor to the BMW M3. Just like the C63 AMG sedan and wagon variants, power output stays the same via a 6.3-liter (6208cc) V8 engine with 451 hp (336 kW / 457 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. Connected through a seven-speed SpeedShift MCT transmission, the coupe dashes from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, also the same as the C63 sedan. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) while fuel consumption using the combined NEDC figures remains a thirsty 12.0 L/100km. The optional AMG Performance Package increases output to 480 hp (358 kW / 487 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. The additional 30 horsepower enables the coupe to sprint from 0-100 km/h one-tenth of a second faster to 4.4 seconds. When the C63 AMG Coupe launchs in Europe this July, an exclusive "Edition 1" will also be available with exclusive equipment. The Edition 1 features AMG sports seats, door panel centers and armrests upholstered in black designo leather with contrasting porcelain seams on the sports seats. Also, other trim pieces have a porcelain piano-lacquer look. The AMG performance steering wheel has been given a two-tone wrap using black nappa leather with the lower section in porcelain designo leather. Naturally, "Edition 1" badges are seen throughout. What I saw was what seemed like a normal C class from afar, but as I looked closer, it turned out to be the new 2012 Mercedes Benz C63 AMG Coupe. I was shocked to see this as these have literally just hit the streets ! Anyway, I quickly asked if I could go film it, and the guy said, "well erm yea you can film it just make sure you dont get any of the registration plates in as it is the test model, that is why it is pretty dirty haha". And i was like "OMG ok ok !!" so I went over, and waited for them to start it up hehe. They eventually did and gave it a few revs, like these one's in the video. I have many more but I just need to wait and ask when it is ok to upload it with the plates on it :) Ps sorry about the lack of actual details of the car. I don't know how to blur out plates at this moment in time so I had to take this video up close to the exhaust so I could upload it quickly :D So if you know an easy way to blur plates, please tell me hehe. A new Mercedes-Benz. -Info- The first photos of the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series Coupe have surfaced. Snapped during a test event at Circuit Paul Ricard in one of the garages, the exclusive AMG Coupe is not as hardcore as the previous generation CLK 63 AMG Black Series. Not only is it the first Black Series to have four seats, but it has been configured more towards everyday street use. Only 20 kg (44 lbs) have been shed from the vehicle's curb weight. In line with yesterday's report, the Black Series Coupe with its 6.2-liter V8 produces 517 PS (380 kW / 510 bhp) which is 30 PS (22 kW / 30 bhp) more than the C63 AMG with the Performance Package. Shifting is performed by the seven-speed 'Speedshift' MCT automatic with a limited slip differential. Torque is rated at 640 Nm (472 lb-ft). Despite no official specs released, 0 to 100 km/h should take about 4 seconds. Interestingly, the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe will not be limited in production and the price should come in around €100000 in Germany, much less than the BMW M3 GTS at €137000.
