This is a GAIN / OVERDRIVE SETTING comparison between a Mesa Boogie Stiletto Ace 50W head and a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 50W head (with Mercury Magnetics output transformer), gain and EQ at noon, through an Avatar G212H (2 x 12") cab with a Celestion Vintage 30 and a Celestion G12H30 Anniversary speaker, closed back, aided by a Tonebone Radial Headbone tube amp head switcher and playing a Gibson Les Paul CS Class 5, all captured through a Canon G10 camera, which might render a somewhat thinner than natural sound. The "slap back" echo is from the room, the guitar is plugged straight in w/o effects.

This is a quick review of the new Mesa Boogie Mark V head in the 10 watt mode, Line 6 DL4 Delay modeler in the FX loop and a Foxrox Octron Pedal in front of the amp. The cab is a 2x12 custom cab loaded with Eminence Swamp Thangs rated at 75 watts each, audio was recorded with the on camera microphone. Please excuse the sloppy guitar playing, just a quick vid for my forum friends.

The sound clips in my first video were recorded direct into the computer. Recording this way was easier, but what really matters is how an amp sounds live. That's what I'll be showing you now. One cabinet was mic'ed with a Shure SM57 and ran into a mic preamp, then direct to computer.
