Directed by Simon Curtis and produced by David Parfitt, the film is based on Colin Clark's diaries and has been adapted for the screen by Adrian Hodges. The film, being released by The Weinstein Company, stars Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams as the iconic and deeply troubled Hollywood screen siren. The plot follows Monroe's first trip to London to film "The Prince and the Showgirl," opposite Hollywood legend Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh). Although Marilyn is the center, the drama is seen through the eyes of Colin Clarke (Eddie Redmayne), whose book the film is based on. Clarke was one of Olivier's assistants who had a week-long fling with Marilyn away from the film's set in the English countryside.
