Its innovative plug-in hybrid concept combines the modified electric drive system from the BMW i3 Concept -- fitted over its front axle -- with a high-performance three-cylinder combustion engine producing 164 kW/220 hp and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) at the rear. BMW i stands for visionary mobility and sustainably conceived electric vehicles. At the parisian railway station Gare de Lyon, BMW i presents its Electric Avenue. The month-long exposition, starting in mid-november, allows passers-by to walk over the piezoelectric floor and thereby generate energy. This energy is visualized by lights around the edges of the floor, which run towards the flip-dot display like wildfire. Every step turns over one dot. Once all flip dots have been turned over by the accumulated energy, the BMW i logo is displayed in its entirety. Interested travelers can leave their contact information with one of the hostesses to receive more facts about BMW i.
