The Double Horse 9104 RC helicopter fuselage is only 550mm long, and is not 710mm long as stated on the box. It did not fly forward without modification. However, the modifications are easy and this helicopter is faster and more fun and challenging to fly than the Volitation 9053.

A few years ago I realized that I hated new machetes and much preferred my old worn out ones. I sat down and took a good hard look at my blades to figure out why and discovered that I had been transforming the blades to have a high, flat, sharp edge at the base and a robust convex forward of that. I also had squared off the spine of the machete to make tinder shavings and rounded off the forward portion of the spine because it was tearing up my hand. Ever since I started modifying my machetes to that configuration from the start I never looked back. This is the process I put my new machetes through, feel free to use it if you think it would work for you. Just remember where you got it. A little over a year ago I posted my first machete modification video. Since then I have had numerous requests as to how I put the modifications on the blades and how I sharpen a machete. The first part of this two part video shows how to take a new Tramontina 16 inch machete and do the basic file work necessary to put a scandi edge at the base of the blade, convex the forward portion, and create both square and round sections on the spine. The second video shows how I correct the grinds and sharpen using a Smith's Tri-Hone. I have found this simple sharpening system to be very useful. The final result is a machete that is sharp along its entire length and gives me a variety of edges to work with in the bush. It is also an edge that I can maintain simply in the bush with a small diamond rod.

Part 2 of 2: Every shooter in the US should own a Ruger 10/22 (and I wish my overseas viewers could too!). It is the everyman's, all-around .22 rifle. It shocks me when I find one that doesn't! That's because it provides immense enjoyment and capabilities for such a reasonable cost. Even out-of-box, the venerable 10/22 is accurate, very reliable, tough, ergonomic, lightweight, easy to use and carry, and most of all, fun! It continues to be an extremely successful Ruger design, having sold well over 5 million copies (and still going strong). It has out-sold and out-survived many other .22 designs to include the Remington Nylon 66. The 10/22 has always represented amazing value. That's because for a reasonable price you are getting a rifle that will probably last your entire lifetime. My circa 1976 10/22 (shown) was given to me as a young man by my Dad and has adventured with me in the swamps of Florida and Alabama, the woods of Virginia, Montana, and Washington, the plains of North Dakota, and in the deserts of Utah, eastern Oregon, Arizona, and Idaho. So this my Maverick Rev-6, after applying modifications to it. First I cut out the air restrictors, a famous modification for Mavericks. I then put pennies into the back of the spring that launches the bullets so the spring can shoot out faster. You may have to keep re-stretching the spring out every 2 weeks or so in order to keep the bullet velocity at an all-time high. Then, using a Sharpie, I painted the gun all black. Some parts were left uncolored in the video, but I decided to color them as well, but I probably won't make another video on it. Doesn't look so special in the video, but the real fun is inside the gun.
