A team from California have shown that it's possible to control images on a screen using just the power of thought. Working with patients who had electrodes implanted for surgery, they fed signals from the patient's brains into a computer, and then watched as they learnt how to use these signals to fade in an image of Marilyn Monroe, or fade out Michael Jackson. Following the recent victory for marriage equality in New York, the New Israel Fund and 92YTribeca hosted this event to celebrate and support freedom of marriage for all on the Jewish holiday of love, Tu B'Av. Host Amy Klein (The MOTH, The New York Times, The Jerusalem Post) led a stellar line-up of storytellers focusing on the themes of love, marriage and relationships in an evening of celebration and hope for a future when everyone can choose who and how to marry. And on this same day, hundreds of supporters of marriage equality gathered in Tel Aviv for the public wedding of Inna and Pavel that will serve as a protest against the country's lack of civil marriage that leaves 300000 Israelis unable to marry. April 25, 2012: Senator Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) was honored with the Consumer Electronics Association's (CEA) Digital Patriot Award 2012 for his leadership in Congress advancing technology entrepreneurship and preserving innovation, most notably his brave and prescient opposition to the Protect IP Act (PIPA).
