Mussolini Italy's Nightmare

This documentary reviews the career and personal life of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. He quickly became one of Italy's most intelligent and menacing young Socialists. He broke with the Italian Socialist Party after advocating intervention in World War 1. In 1922, he became prime minister, and by 1925, he had established himself as dictator. His rule saw an official totalitarian system; the establishment of the Vatican state; the annexation of Abyssinia and Albania; and the formation of the Axis with Germany. His declaration of war on Britain and France was followed by a series of defeats in Africa and in the Balkans. Following the Allied invasion of Sicily, his supporters deserted him, and he was overthrown and arrested. Rescued from imprisonment by German paratroopers, he was placed in charge of the puppet Italian Social Republic, but in 1945 he was captured by the Italian Resistance and executed.

(Very Rare!) Mussolini's Speech - in English! (1929 Fox Movietone Newsreel)

Very rare footage of the infamous Italian Fascist leader Benito Mussolini. In his Fox movietone newsreel footage from March 1929, he speaks in English (!) - Not so many people don't know, but Mussolini could speak English, French and German fluently, although he had very strong accent when speaking English. Mussolini says (Roughly transcribed); "I am very glad to be able to express my feelings to the American nation. Friendship which Italy looks to millions of citizens who from..... from Pacific to Atlantic..... United States is very deeply rooted in our hearts. This feeling created by mutual interest in preparation of an even brighter era in the life of both nations. I agree - the wonderful energy of the American people and I feel....... my fellow citizens who are working to make America great. I salute the great American people, I salute the Italians of America who unite in the love of the nation."

Benito Mussolini: Hero or Villian? A Documentary

This was a documentary we (my partners and I) made for History Day, regarding Benito Mussolini. This competed at LA's History Day on March 24th, 2007. It got to finals. I was not there at the competition, but I did edit it. EDIT 2: I've opened up this to ratings as of 1/3/2009 as I geniunely want to see what everyone thinks. When you rate, please put aside your biases and think about the QUALITY of the documentary. Uploaded for friends and to show people. EDIT: As of 6/30/2008, I've decided to allow comments on a "Constructive criticism/non-racist" basis. If you had a comment that you wanted to post, try it again. I will not accept any "Love live Mussolini" comments. It's an educational documentary, not WWII again.

Tea with Mussolini - The Movie [01/11]

Semi-autobiographical tale from the early life of director Franco Zeffirelli looks at the illegitimate son (Charlie Lucas as a child, Baird Wallace as the teen) of an Italian businessman. The boy's mother has died, and he is raised by an Englishwoman (Joan Plowright) in pre-WWII Fascist Italy. Living to each other in Florence, and presided over by an ambassador's widow (Maggie Smith), a group of Englishwomen live a sheltered existence which they believe is guaranteed personal protection in a tea reception given by Il Duce. However, as war breaks out, the women are interned. Occasionally in this English colony is a wealthy American (Cher), who visits among her travels and marriages to wealthy older men. She respects the "Scorpioni", as they are known, and secretly arranges for their stay in a hotel. The ambassador's widow finds her vulgar and tries to ignore her, but when the United States enters the war, the American too is taken into custody. Only then does she discover that her Italian lover (Paolo Seganti) has tricked her into signing over all her money and modern art collection to him, and is now arranging her execution. This obliges all to join forces. Lily Tomlin also appears as an American archaeologist working at a dig in the city.

DICHIARAZIONE DI GUERRA DI BENITO MUSSOLINI !!! VINCERE !!!
