PART 1"RARE"1988 HBO UNDERCOVER MAFIA DOCUMENTARY ON NJ GENOVESE

PART 1 The investigation at the center of Confessions begins by chance, when a retired East Orange, New Jersey cop named Mike Russell is driving down Bloomfield Avenue in North Newark and sees two young guys attacking an older one. Russell goes to the aid of the older man, driving off the attackers. He discovers that the guy he's helped is Andrew "Andy" Gerardo, now head of Boiardo's old gang. Gerardo invites Russell into his hangout, a coffee shop on the avenue just a few steps from a monument to Christopher Columbus and the Italian American contribution to America. There, Russell meets other key members of the crew, who treat him like a hero and befriend him. Russell then contacts a friend in the state police, who asks him to begin surveillance on the crew. Incredibly, the mobsters invite Russell to move his oil delivery business into a storefront adjoining their Newark headquarters, figuring he's friendly, and from there the investigation takes off. But unbeknownst to the state police, Russell enlists a cameraman and begins his own videotaping of the Jersey crew, which provides most of the material for the HBO documentary.

American Gangster

Frank Lucas (born September 9, 1930)[4] is a former US heroin dealer and organized crime boss who operated in Harlem during the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was particularly known for cutting out middlemen in the drug trade and buying heroin directly from his source in the Golden Triangle. Lucas boasted that he smuggled heroin using the coffins of dead American servicemen,[5][6] but this claim is denied by his South East Asian associate, Leslie "Ike" Atkinson.[7] His career was dramatized-with questioned accuracy-in the 2007 feature film American Gangster in which Lucas is played by Denzel Washington. Lucas was born in La Grange, North Carolina and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina.[8] He claims that the incident that sparked his motivation to embark on a life of crime was witnessing his 12-year-old cousin's murder at the hands of the Ku Klux Klan, for apparently "reckless eyeballing" (looking at a Caucasian woman), in Greensboro, North Carolina. He drifted through a life of petty crime until one particular occasion when after a fight with a former employer he fled to New York on the advice of his mother. In Harlem he indulged in petty crime and pool hustling before he was taken under the wing of gangster Bumpy Johnson.[5] Lucas' connection to Johnson has since come under some doubt; he claimed to have been Johnson's driver for 15 years, although Johnson spent just five years out of prison before his death in 1968. According to Johnson's widow, much of the narrative ...

Mafia Crime Families - Most Dangerous Bosses

The Mafia (also known as Cosa Nostra) is a criminal syndicate that emerged in the mid-nineteenth century in Sicily, Italy. It is a loose association of criminal groups that share a common organizational structure and code of conduct, and whose common enterprise is protection racketeering. Each group, known as a "family", "clan", or "cosca", claims sovereignty over a territory in which it operates its rackets -- usually a town or village or a neighbourhood (borgata) of a larger city. Its members call themselves "men of honor", although the public often refers to them as "mafiosi". The American Mafia (or simply the Mafia in the United States), is an Italian-American criminal society. Much like the Sicilian Mafia, the American Mafia has no formal name and is a secret criminal society. Its members usually refer to it as Cosa Nostra or by its English translation "our thing" (or "this thing of ours"). The press has also coined the name "National Crime Syndicate" to refer to the entirety of US organized crime, including the Mafia. The Mafia emerged in New York's Lower East Side and other areas of the East Coast of the United States during the late 19th century following waves of Italian immigration, especially from Sicily. It has its roots in the Sicilian Mafia, but is a separate organization in the United States. Neapolitan, Calabrian, and other Italian criminal groups, as well as independent Italian-American criminals, eventually merged with the Sicilians to create the modern ...

Pagan's Motorcycle Club, or simply The Pagans, is a one-percenter outlaw motorcycle gang and an alleged organized crime syndicate formed by Lou Dobkin in 1959 in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States.[1][5] The club rapidly expanded and by 1965, the Pagans, originally clad in blue denim jackets and riding Triumphs, began to evolve along the lines of the stereotypical one percenter motorcycle club.[1] The Pagans are categorized as an outlaw motorcycle gang by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. They are known to fight over territory with the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC)[1] and other motorcycle clubs, such as Fates Assembly MC, who have since merged with the HAMC.[6] They are active in thirteen states; Delaware, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Michigan, Virginia and West Virginia. The Pagans were established in Prince George County, Maryland by then president Lou Dobkin, in 1959. The group started out by wearing denim jackets and riding Triumph Motorcycles.[8] Originally they were a comradeship of 13 motorcyclists. In the 1960s they adopted a formal constitution and formed a governing structure choosing a national president.[9] They were a fairly non-violent group until 1965, when the Pagans evolved into an outlaw biker gang with ties to other organized crime groups such as the American Mafia. Under the leadership of John "Satan" Marron their violence grew in the early 1970s. Their ...

This event took place on Sunday March 10, 2012 @ GF Outdoor Field. For more information on our upcoming events visit gfairsoftclub.com For all things airsoft, visit http Beats by Ragnar The Mérida Initiative is a security cooperation agreement between the United States and the government of Mexico and the countries of Central America, with the declared aim of combating the threats of drug & weapons trafficking, transnational organized crime and money laundering. The assistance includes training, equipment and intelligence. In seeking partnership with the United States, Mexican officials point out that the illicit drug trade is a shared problem in need of a shared solution. The Mérida Initiative includes $74 million to be assigned for efforts by the US government to stop the flow of illegal weapons from the US to Mexico, but important concerns remain regarding how this will be achieved. According to a Mexican government official, as many as 2000 weapons enter Mexico each year and fuel an arms race between competing drug cartels. Since 1996, the ATF has traced more than 62000 firearms smuggled into Mexico from the United States. Mexican government officials suspect that corrupt customs officials, on both sides of the border, help smuggle weapons into Mexico; as reported by ATF, the most common "traced" firearms now include the Colt AR-15 .223 caliber rifle, the AK-47 assault rifle, FN 5.7 caliber semi-automatic pistol and a variety of armor piercing .50 caliber long range ...

Dalia Dippolito Trial - Cross-Examination of Husband Michael

Michael Dippolito is cross-examined on April 28, 2011 in the "murder for hire" trial of his wife, Dalia Dippolito. Dalia was ultimately convicted of solicitation to commit first-degree murder for attempting to hire a hit man to have Michael murdered. The "hit man" was actually an undercover cop. ---- Michael Dippolito, target of wife's alleged hit attempt, gets agitated, concludes testimony April 28, 2011 | By Alexia Campbell, Sun Sentinel Michael Dippolito, visibly agitated after three days on the witness stand, denied accusations that he had planned a reality-show hoax in 2009 that led to his wife's arrest. So far he has been the most dramatic witness in the trial. His wife, Dalia Dippolito, is facing charges that she tried to hire a hit man to have him killed. "I have no idea what you're talking about," he told defense attorney Michael Salnick on Thursday under cross examination. Dippolito, 40, had been on the witness stand for nearly 12 hours when Salnick brought up his scenario of a reality-show prank. In opening statements Tuesday, Salnick said Dalia Dippolito knew she was being recorded when police set up the scenario that her husband had been killed. But it was all for reality TV, Salnick said, because Michael Dippolito wanted a role on a reality show. "This reality thing didn't work out the way you wanted it to, did it?" Salnick asked. "What reality thing?" Dippolito answered. Salnick pressed him about his interest in reality television and his love of the show ...

Albanian Mafia Drug ring 37 Arrested NY1

Federal law enforcement authorities on Wednesday charged 37 individuals in connection with an international drug-trafficking ring led by ethnic Albanians, whose operations are said to have netted more than $500 million during an 11-year run across three continents. The majority of the accused syndicate members were arrested early Wednesday in New York, New Jersey, Colorado and Florida, according to law enforcement officials. Several others were arrested earlier this month in connection with a drug-related shooting, and others are already in prison on related offenses. One of the accused ringleaders, Arif Kurti, was previously arrested in Albania on heroin trafficking charges. The US is requesting his extradition. According to court documents, the accused individuals are members of several interrelated Albanian family clans, known as fis. The syndicate's members included hundreds of members, associates, workers and customers who helped arrange for the importation and distribution of massive quantities of marijuana, cocaine, oxycodone and other illegal drugs across the US, Canada, South America and Europe, operating from 1999 until last month, officials said. The group used a professional money-laundering organization in Canada to wash more than $15 million in drug profits, officials said. Federal officials are seeking a total of more than $500 million in what they say are ill-gotten gains reaped from the syndicate during its run.

News Update: Report Confirms MGM Mirage's Ties to Organized Crime (MGM)

In a previously confidential report released Wednesday, New Jersey state regulators said they found that casino operator MGM Mirage (NYSE:MGM) went astray by partnering with a company for its Macau casino that it knew had links to people connected with organized crime, The Wall Street Journal reported. "From the beginning of its efforts to enter Macau, MGM pursued partnerships with persons that it knew were associated with those aspects of gaming in Macau most heavily penetrated by organized crime," New Jersey's Division of Gaming Enforcement wrote to the state's Casino Control Commission. MGM Mirage disclosed the report's existence nearly a year ago, but it had been kept confidential until a hearing Wednesday before the casino commission.

9/11 Heavy Equipment Accumulated By Late Afternoon Waiting For WTC 7 Demolition

An interesting sidebar to this story is that, in October 1990, Louis DiBono, an associate of the Gambino crime family, was murdered in the basement levels of the WTC. DiBono claimed to have a contract worth millions of dollars to re-fireproof the WTC buildings. Sammy "The Bull" Gravano was charged with the murder but was apparently acting on the orders of John Gotti, the Gambino boss at the time. DiBono's body was found three days after he was murdered, in the parking garage of the WTC near where a bomb-laden van would be set-off three years later. After 9/11, a contractor with one of the biggest presences at Ground Zero was Seasons Contracting Corp., owned by Salvatore Carucci, a reputed Luchese associate. "We were called in by AMEC, one of the team of general contractors managing the cleanup," said Bill Singley, a Seasons project manager. AMEC also hired Big Apple Wrecking, owned by Harold Greenberg, a reputed mob associate whose firm was barred from government work because of his convictions in bid-rigging and bribery conspiracies. Another firm that investigators allege was controlled by Greenberg, Safeway Environmental, also was hired to work at Ground Zero. One of the first firms on the scene was Mazzocchi Wrecking, brought in by the New York City Housing Preservation Department, but then hired by AMEC. A few months after 9/11, the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement "charged that three members of the DeCavalcante crime family worked for Mazzocchi." 78 Other AMEC ...
