Nigerian schools in dire state

Primary schools in Nigeria are in a dire state as they greatly suffer from a lack of resources and unqualified educators to teach young pupils. In Lagos State, home to Nigeria's most populous city, Lagos, more than 1000 primary schools are dilapidated lacking basic classroom furniture, electricity, and running water. Part of the problem is that primary education in Lagos State has suffered from decades of under-investment while the population of those that need to be taught increases. Babatunde Fashola, governor of Lagos State, is trying to close to close the gap on years of neglect. Under his governorship, more than 2300 new classrooms have been built and many renovated. Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege reports from Lagos State.

Nigeria 'failing' in fight against Boko Haram

A Nigerian armed Islamist group has carried out a series of attacks in the Yobe state capital of Damaturu, leaving more than 100 people dead. The blasts occurred just before Eid al-Adha, or the feast of sacrifice, celebrated by Muslims around the world. Boko Haram has been active since 2002, with its fighters killing hundreds of people. Most Nigerian Muslims are opposed to the group's tactics, but with a high level of unemployment, the group seems to have little trouble finding new recruits. Many people blame the government for its failed strategy in fighting Boko Haram. Al Jazeera's Azhar Sukri reports.

Nigeria faces new sectarian killings

14 members of one family were killed in Plateau state, Nigeria, in what appears to be a religiously-motivated attack. Locals say they were a Christian family, shot or hacked to death, by Muslim herdsmen. To these villagers, this is part of a cycle of revenge killings that have left dozens of people dead in the last two weeks. While killings motivated by religion, or battle for land, have dogged the area for many years, there now appears to be a new, more determined pattern; pitting communities who have lived together for decades against each other. The murders are another headache for President Goodluck Jonathan, who is also dealing with more bombings, after last month's attack on the UN compound in Abuja. Al Jazeera's Emike Umolu, reports. WARNING: This report contains some disturbing images.

Cover and cook for 45 minutes. Step 3 In a larger pot over medium fire, heat up the palm oil....(Now this is probably one of the most important steps. The oil must be heated up until it changes color completely from red to white. This process can take, depending on how much oil you are using up to 15 minutes.
