After many long hours, this is my tribute to my favorite genre, to the dark shadows and the profound despair of the soul. I tried to include as many as I could get my hands on, though there are obviously some that I overlooked, some accidently (the absence of "The Sweet Smell of Success" and "White Heat" are the most obvious and shameful), some purposefully (save Sam Fuller's 1964 pulp masterpiece "The Naked Kiss," I decided to stay strictly within the 18-year period between 1940 and 1958, so absolutely no neo-noirs like "Chinatown", and even more importantly, absolutely no colors). After handing out private copies to a few selected djs we ended up with enormous support on this remix from: Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Radioslave, Art Department, Pete Tong, Dubfire, Matthew Dear, Tiefschwarz, Butch, Gorge, Jimpster, Sasha,Reboot, Deetron, Tim Green, 2000 And One, Catz n' Dogz, Matt Tolfrey, Ryan Crosson and Nic Fanciulli. At DC10's closing party at Ibiza the Subb-an Remix was played no less than 3 times and the crowd was ecstatic each time. So here's something I've been meaning to do for ages, and it'll be interesting to see how far I get before this becomes cumbersome and boring, but hopefully that shouldn't happen. Discworld Noir is my all-time favourite video game, hands-down. It's a brilliant story that simultaneously created my love for both Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld series of books, as well as the Noir detective genre. It's quite an obscure game though, and I believe it's not widely available outside of Europe. Combined with the fact that not many PCs will run it properly these days, I thought I'd finally give in and upload a playthrough. I could probably play this thing with my eyes closed, since I've played it so much. I'm running this game on Windows XP, using compatability mode: Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 5), in 256 colours and in 640x480 screen resolution, because the game usually complains if I use any other settings. There are minor glitches, but since there was never a patch these will sadly never be fixed. Anyway, here's the introduction to the game. Hope you enjoy my playthrough - I try to get as many interactions on film as possible. By the way, it's impossible to game over in this, so you could argue that there's no actual "game" element, other than trying to complete it. I still love it though, whenever I sit down to play it I feel like I am watching one of my favourite films again. Oh, and there will be annotations. You may want to turn those off if they annoy you <b>...</b>
