"Hunters Yard, Ludham, Norfolk, where Percy Hunter's unique fleet of traditional, wooden, 1930's sailing yachts awaits you. The Yard sits in its own private, secluded dyke in the heart of the world famous inland waterway, known as the Norfolk Broads. Percy's 'Lovely Ladies' form a fleet of vintage, gaff rigged, fixed keel sloop Yachts equipped with self-tacking jibs. They have no engine or electric power; instead have oil lamps and a gas cooker and enjoy an enviable reputation for their superb sailing qualities! You really can get away from it all on these girls. However, because of the lack of engine you will need to have some sailing experience to be able to take one of these 'ole gals' out please. The 'girls' are even famous! - Lullaby was Teasel in the BBC's production of Swallows & Amazons Forever; we still have Teasel's transom and her dinghy Titmouse here at the Yard. More recently, Wood Rose was used by Griff Rhys Jones on his programme The Rivers. Our Yachts are often used in modelling shoots, specialised sailing publications and are often referred to in the general press. The Fleet is maintained to an extremely high standard by a small number of skilled and dedicated staff whose collective experience totals well over one hundred years!
