Betty's Dreamy Date Nut Bread Recipe


In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make her tasty and filling Date Nut Bread. This bread can be used for breakfast or for an afternoon snack with tea. It is very easy to make, and it tastes wonderful! Ingredients: 1 cup chopped dates 1 cup boiling water 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 eggs, well beaten 1 cup sugar 1 tablespoon butter, softened 1 cup walnuts (You may substitute another kind of nut.) 1 ½ cups self-rising flour 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Sprinkle 1 cup dates with 1 teaspoon baking soda, and pour 1 cup boiling water over all. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, beat 2 eggs, and add 1 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon softened butter. Mix well. Gradually stir in 1 cup walnuts, 1 ½ cups flour, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and date mixture. Stir, just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour mixture into a greased and floured, waxed-paper-lined loaf pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the deepest part comes out clean. (I always bake any loaf like this in the center of the oven with a large sheet of aluminum foil on the rack above, so that the top will not over-brown. The aluminum foil may be removed near the end of baking.) Remove loaf from the oven, and let cool in the loaf pan for a few minutes. Remove from the loaf pan, and peel off the waxed paper. Place on a nice serving plate, and slice into equally-sized slices, and serve while warm with fresh butter. This is a simple bread, with a touch of elegance! You will love <b>...</b>

Ingredients: 1/2 cup peanut oil (You may use olive oil, corn oil, Wesson oil, etc.) 1 cup sugar 2 well beaten eggs 3 ripe bananas, mashed 3 tablespoons milk 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 cups self-rising flour 1/2 cup chopped pecans cooking oil spray Blend 1/2 cup oil and 1 cup sugar together. Add 2 well-beaten eggs and 3 mashed ripe bananas. Beat well. Add 3 tablespoons milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Stir. Add 2 cups self-rising flour, and blend until completely combined. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped pecans. Pour mixture into a 9-inch by 5-inch loaf pan that has been sprayed with cooking oil. Bake for about 45 minutes in an oven that has been preheated to 350 degrees. The banana bread will be done when a toothpick inserted into the middle of the bread comes out clean. Cool to room temperature, remove from loaf pan, and place on a serving plate. Banana Nut Bread A quick bread that is easy to make. Tastes great warm, cool, or toasted. Freezes well, and travels well for mailing. INGREDIENTS 3 cups all purpose flour 1 cup whole wheat flour 1 teaspoon salt 4 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 3/4 cup butter 1 cup sugar 4 eggs 4 cups mashed ripe bananas(1/2 cup more or less than 4cups works) 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts RECIPE --bring butter and eggs to room temperature. Preheat oven to 350f. grease 2 9x5 loaf pans. --Combine flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda --cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, and mix well. Mix in part of the flour mixture, then part of the mashed bananas. Mix in remaining flour mixture and mashed bananas. Then add your dry mixture and nuts this part is crucial to just mix till it's moist and combined over mixing will result in overly dense dry banana bread. You will need the have your loaf pan ready buttered or sprayed with nonstick spray pour mixture in pan and bake 50 to 60 min @350F Check after 50 min with a toothpick will be done when toothpick comes out center clean then cool and enjoy Using a dark or nonstick pan will reduce cooking time please adjust accordingly. BANANA NUT BREAD IN A JAR 2/3 cup shortening 2 2/3 cups white sugar 4 eggs 2 cups mashed bananas 2/3 cup water 3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground cloves (or allspice) 2/3 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans) Preheat over to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Cranberry Nut Bread All Liquored Up! barbecuebob.podomatic.com Quick and easy and very tasty! This holiday bread is a regular around the Bob household. I've been making since I was 8 years old - except then it had no Grand Marnier. Here's the Recipe, Folks! Yield 1 Cake 2 cup Flour 3/4 cup White sugar 1 1/2 tsp. Baking powder 1 tsp. Salt 1/2 tsp. Baking soda 1 cup Cut cranberries 1/2 cup Chopped walnuts 1 tsp. Grated orange peel 1 Beaten egg 3/4 cup Orange juice 2 Tbs. Salad oil Sift together dry ingredients. Stir in cranberries, nuts & orange peel. Combine eggs, orange juice, salad oil, stirring just till moistened. Bake in greased 9 1/2 x 5 x 3" pan in moderate oven 350 - 50 minutes or until done.

Cinnamon Nut Bread


1 package (18-1/4 ounces) yellow cake mix 3 eggs 1-1/3 cups water 1/4 cup canola oil 1-1/4 cups finely chopped walnuts 7-1/2 teaspoons sugar 4-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon Directions In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water and oil. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Combine walnuts, sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle a third of the nut mixture into a greased 10-in. fluted tube pan. Top with half of the batter and another third of the nut mixture. Repeat layers. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely. Yield: 12-14 servings.

crazyjake451.blogspot.com In this episode of Baken' Jake I will teach you how to make banana bread and banana nut bread from scratch. You may also make chocolate chip banana bread with this recipe. Banana bread was developed somewhere in the 18th century and became popular in the 1900's with the use of baking soda. That is basically all the history there is to banana bread. The recipe is as follows: 1 ¼ cup sugar ½ cup butter or margarine 2 eggs 3-4 medium sized bananas ½ cup buttermilk 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 ½ cups bread or all purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips or both (optional) Preheat the oven to 350' F. Puree the bananas until you get about 1 ½ cups worth. Use greener bananas for a more bitter bread or browner for a sweeter bread. Melt butter and mix in large bowl with sugar. Add bananas, buttermilk and vanilla. Beat with hand held blender until smooth. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt until moist. Stir in nuts or chocolate chips of you want them. Pour batter into a well greased or buttered 9x5x3 bread pan and bake for about 1 hour 20 minutes or until a skewer comes out almost clean from the center of the bread. If nothing is on the skewer when it is removed then you have probably cooked it too long and will result in a dry bread. Let cool for 10 minutes then loosen sides with knife. Spiced Nut Bread 2 cups of flour 1 cup of sugar 1 tbsp of baking powder ½ tsp salt ¼ tsp ground cinnamon 1/8 tsp all spice 1 egg, beaten 1 cup of milk ¼ cup cooking oil ¾ cup chopped nuts 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2.Grease the bottom and ½ in up the side of a loaf pan; set aside. 3.In a bowl stir together all the dry ingredients; except the nuts. 4. In another bowl combine the egg, milk and oil. 5. Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir till combined, batter will be lumpy 6. Fold in nuts 7. Pour batter into pan 8. Bake for 50-55 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean.
