The STRALES system represents an evolution for the 76/62 naval artilleries which includes: a 76/62 naval gun, DART guided ammunition and a Radio Frequency Guidance System with associated electronics. This System is the most effective response to the emerging requirements for medium calibre naval guns, demanding the highest level of lethality within evolving scenarios in Air Defence as well as in Anti Surface actions. STRALES is extremely effective against today generation of anti-ship missiles and also in ASuW, especially where simultaneous engagement of multiple manoeuvring targets is involved, cooperating with the unique sustained firing capability of 76mm gun. DART is a sub-calibre projectile with canard which is directed to the target by the guidance beam generated by an antenna placed on the gun mount within a protective shield Its effectiveness is further increased by pre-fragmented warhead and 3AP microwave programmable fuze. To fulfil the new challenging requirements like manoeuvring anti-ship missiles even the supersonic ones, Oto Melara has developed the DART (Driven Ammunition with Reduced Time of flight) guided projectile, capable to be re-vectored towards the target during its time of flight. DART ammunition can be fired by the 76mm Strales system, that presents new features: - double ammunition feeding system, - digital console - guidance antenna - gun shield r - electronic equipment specifically designed for the DART ammunition guidance.

Veicolo Blindato Medio (VBM) Freccia is a medium-sized 8×8 Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) developed by the consortium Iveco-Oto Melara. It is the first digitised vehicle to enter into service with the Italian Army and was first delivered to the Italian Army in February 2009. It is based on the chassis of the B1 Centauro tank destroyers developed by the consortium in the 90s but has a longer and narrower hull with enhanced armour. The first prototype of the vehicle was ready by 1996 and was fitted with the Hitfist Plus turret which is armed with the Oerlikon KBA 25mm automatic cannon. A pair of 7.62mm NATO machine guns is also equipped. The vehicle can be further armed with a pair of Spike ML/LR anti-tank missiles, and eight 80mm smoke grenade launchers. It is crewed by a crew of three which consists of a gunner and commander in the turret as well as the driver, and can further carry an additional eight combat-ready troops. The Vehiculo Blindato Leggero (VBL) is an Italian Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) produced by the Iveco Fiat and Oto Melara consortium for the Italian Army. The armoured fighting vehicle family consists of 6x6 and 4x4 variants. First prototypes completed in 1988, with a total of five testbed vehicles being completed by 1990. The Italian Army started ordering in 1999 with the first vehicles delivered in 2003. The vehicles' first operational deployment was in Southern Iraq in 2005. The hulls for the different versions of the Puma vehicles are customised to meet the specific mission requirements, while the mechanical systems, with minor differences in the transfer casing, are common to the family of vehicles. The 4X4 variant carries two soldiers in addition to the driver and gunner, and is used in pairs for battlefield reconnaissance. The 6X6 version carries four soldiers plus driver and gunner, and together with another Puma 6X6 can carry an entire Italian infantry squad of eight men. The combat vehicles can be armed with the Raytheon TOW anti-tank missile, the missile launcher being mounted on the roof of the vehicle. The TOW missile is a wire-guided, optically tracked missile with a maximum range of 3.75km. MBDA Milan anti-tank guided missile and Mistral surface-to-air missile can also be fitted to the vehicle. The VCC (Veicolo Corazzato da Combattimento) Dardo is a Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) designed for the Italian Army as a replacement for the M113 APC. It is designed and built by the Iveco Fiat Oto Melara Syndicated Company based in Rome. Iveco is responsible for the hull and propulsion systems while Oto Melara is responsible for the weapons system and fire control system. It can accommodate a 3 crew and 7 passengers and is armed with a 25 mm cannon, a launcher either side of the turret for a Hughes TOW ATGW and a fire control system with a laser rangefinder. The Dardo hull is built from welded aluminum alloy with add on steel armour plates for increased protection. Over the frontal arc the vehicle is protected against 25mm APDS projectiles. The side armour protects against 14.5 API projectiles. Four 80mm smoke grenade launchers, are installed on both sides of the turret, for a total of eight. The Otobreda 76 mm gun is a naval artillery piece built by the Italian defence conglomerate of Otobreda, developed originally from the Oto Melara 76/62mm Allargato, which was bigger, heavier and had a slower rate of fire. A vehicle-mounted version known as the Otomatic was built for the self-propelled anti-aircraft gun role, although this was not put into production. The gun is capable of very high rates of fire, making it suitable for short-range anti-missile point defence. Its calibre also gives it abilities for anti-aircraft, anti-surface and ground shelling. Specialised ammunition is available for armour piercing, incendiary and directed fragmentation. A new stealth cupola has been designed in recent years. The system is compact enough to be installed on relatively small warships, like corvettes, avisos (a vessel somewhere between a corvette and a patrol boat), or patrol boats. It has been widely exported and is in use with 53 navies. It has recently been favoured over the French 100 mm naval gun for the new Horizon CNGF frigates. On 27 September 2006 Iran announced it has started mass production of a marine artillery gun, named the Fajr-27, which is a reverse-engineered Oto Melara 76 mm gun.[1]

avviamento oto melara (povegliano presso il gruppo gatepo che ringrazio per la disponibilità) questo l'ho provato pure io ..............e mi si vede..........all'aviamento l'amico Corrado che ringrazio per aver reso partecipe me e la mia famiglia a qst bellissima manifestazione!!!!!!! Il 1953 rimane sicuramente l'anno in cui vengono presentate più novità al mercato, ed il motore bicilindrico rappresenta certamente la massima espressione della tecnologia sviluppata negli stabilimenti di La Spezia. Questo trattore che sarà presentato anche nella versione nativa cingolata e trasformabile, punta a ritagliarsi una fetta di mercato tra i marchi più affermati; basti pensare che nello stesso periodo Landini è sul mercato con il poderoso 55/60 che però continua ancora ad essere equipaggiato con un motore testa-calda ormai sorpassato. I 38,5 cv che il motore bicilindrico a L riesce ad esprimere, rappresentano proprio la quantità di potenza necessaria per poter offrire un trattore moderno e versatile a chi deve affrontare le colture più impegnative. I motore viene infatti subito apprezzato per le grandi doti di accellerazione e coppia che lo distinguono dalla concorrenza, ma ancora una volta il mezzo risulta essere particolarmente fragile nei particolari che compongono l'assale anteriore. La particolare struttura del mezzo evidenzia ancora una volta un eccessivo arretramento nel bilanciamento dei pesi, che innesca durante le lavorazioni, un continuo impennarsi dell'avantreno. La meccanica è la stessa del 25 a ruote dello stesso anno, che ha riscontrato un notevole successo. Il posto guida è in classico stile cingolato, ma le leve di comando delle frizioni e dei freni di sterzo piegate ad angolo retto, sembrano prese in prestito dal posto guida di un carro-armato. Anche in questa versione, si nota la ventola del raffreddamento ad aria forzata, trascinata dalla cinghia.

L'ultimo avviamento a manovella del trattore d'epoca OTO Melara C30 del 1960 prima della vendita del mezzo... La macchina aveva subito un incendio, ma il potente motore Oto, nonostante le molle delle valvole che non tengono e la guarnizione di testa rovinata insiste a partire!!!

Mietilegatura con mietilega Laverda -ML 5 BR- e Trattore oto melara 45 Quest' ultima versione del motore bicilindrico prodotta dalla Oto Melara, risulta essere molto simile al predecessore da 40 cv. L'occhio esperto nota sicuramente la nuova posizione del tappo serbatoio, che portato davanti al motore, conferisce al mezzo una nuova e più equilibrata distribuzione dei pesi. Buona parte dei modelli prodotti dalla Oto in precedenza, soffrivano di un insufficiente ripartizione del carico sull'assale anteriore: la forte propensione ad impennare, diveniva perciò la causa principale delle frequenti rotture che affliggevano l'assale. Per questo motivo il 45 ha potuto contare su di una nuova redistribuzione dei pesi, di un assale rinforzato, e di un sovradimensionamento dei riduttori posteriori. Con il lancio sul mercato del 40 cv., la trasmissione del bicilindrico si era infatti dimostrata sottodimensionata per la poderosa coppia trasmessa. Da notare una nuova conformazione del coperchio valvole, ed una alettatura di raffreddamento dei cilindri più estesa, per poterne migliorare il raffreddamento. Da notare che questa versione denominata RC (Ruote - Cingolato) era facilmente convertibile, ed in poco più di 3 ore era possibile trasformare questo poderoso bicilindrico a ruote, in un imponente ed inarrestabile cingolato.
