CSUN Protest - Storming the Oviatt Library, Manzanita Hall, and the STREETS
Hundreds of, if not at least a thousand, CSUN students protest against the rising budget cuts on public education by storming the Oviatt Library and Manzanita Hall on their way to the Reseda and Nordoff intersection. Students in the library were on their Facebook checking/updating their statuses. I nearly went deaf since it was so loud. Obstructing traffic becomes increasingly easy as the numbers continue to rise and in spite of this, many drivers honked in support. Radio stations arrived on the scene. [EDIT] Ultimately, the primary success about this protest is raising awareness to be a bit more politically active at the very least. People online sure are responding to these videos when the footage is no longer on TV, for instance. It's kinda sad when people don't think their voices matter in a democratic-republic. New changes in Oviatt Library
The Oviatt Library on California State University, Northridge's campus has undergone changes to its study rooms to make way for the class of 2013. Along with structural changes, the CSUN library has also took a plunge into social media. The Oviatt Library has newly updated Twitter, Facebook and Myspace pages in an effort to enhance communication between the university and its students. Students may also "text" their questions to the library staff.

Students Storm Oviatt Library During CSUN Protest
March 2 As a way of protesting budget cuts and fee hikes at California State University Northridge, protesting students decided to storm the Oviatt Library for some reason. All it succeeded in doing was disturb the students that were trying to study who didn't partake in the walk-out and demonstration. Great job guys. Filmed behind the library, there is usualy no one wandering around here and there is plenty of room. please note i am am wearing safety gear. do not attempt this move, it is very dangerous. Rainy days are great for some coleman slide (i think that is what this move is called, correct me if i am wrong?) practice. much easier to initiate the slides and less wear to the wheels. clean up is another story all together. i am experimenting with synthetic motorcycle chain lube. i am riding a Landyachtz DHR with 90mm abec 11 flywheels on bear smokey trucks.

Paul Maverick takes to the steps in front of Oviatt Library at California State University Northridge, to deliver a speech representing the labor union presence at the "Students for Quality Education" rally on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Paul is a member of United Auto Workers Local 4123, which is the union representing 6000 graduate student workers at the CSU system. His speech links corporate greed to the dismantling of the university, and he proposes a very simple solution to what ails the California budget.

Strunz & Farah Twilight at the Zuq (Primal Magic)
Once again, from Costa Rica, Jorge Strunz, and from Iran, Ardeshir Farah, together known as Strunz & Farah, performing this exhilarating track titled, Twilight at the Zuq from the CD Primal Magic. Also featuring the violin of Charlie Bisharat. The music of Strunz & Farah, particularly from the CD Primal Magic, brings back special memories for me from my University (College) years. I remember the year was 1990. I was a student at the California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Shortly after the release of Primal Magic, I heard the exciting news that Strunz & Farah were coming to concert at the CSU Northridge campus. Strunz & Farah and their World Band gave an extraordinary live performance at CSUN, in a night that I certainly will never forget. Words cannot possibly describe the experience of being present at their live concert performances. It is often described as an inebriating experience, without the possibility of overdose or any harmful side effects. All thoughts of the past and the future fade away, giving way to the complete experience of the music in the present moment. In remembrance of that memorable night, and the years at CSUN, the Photos of the college campus, including views of the famous Oviatt Library were included in the video. This is certainly a very pleasant trip down memory lane.
