The 18-year-old boy was attacked at around 1.45pm when the street was packed with thousands people taking advantage of the Boxing Day sales. The dramatic footage showed medical staff wearing blue plastic gloves trying to revive the teenager by pressing down on his chest as he lay on the pavement. This weekend, Oxford Street and Regent Street was returned to shoppers from Saturday 10 December 2011 for a traditional, magical West End Christmas celebration and traffic-free shopping weekend. The main event over American Express Shop West End VIP (Very Important Pedestrians) Weekend was a 30 hour charity West End Christmas Carol-A-Thon to raise money for Kids Company, which provides practical, emotional support to vulnerable inner-city children.
