I'm too far away to go and place flowers and liquor in Edgar Allan Poe's tomb, in Baltimore, US. But every january the 19th I remember Poe in some way or another. This time, I've chosen to add Vincent Price impersonation of famous tale The Tell-tale Heart (first act of his An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe movie). When I was living in Spain, I did the same tale -in spanish- for a live audience on several occasions (Arnod Medvegia was my nickname on those performings). I love this tale. I love Vincet Price. And finally I love Edgar Allan Poe. This is my homage to both amazingly talented geniuses, combined here again to give life to such a masterpiece. Happy birthday Edgar!!

Heres a virtual movie of the great Edgar Allan Poe reading his much loved and very dark poem "The Raven" .......... The Raven" is a narrative poem by the American writer Edgar Allan Poe, first published in January 1845. It is noted for its musicality, stylized language, and supernatural atmosphere. It tells of a talking raven's mysterious visit to a distraught lover, tracing the latter's slow descent into madness. The lover, often identified as being a student,[1][2] is lamenting the loss of his love, Lenore. The raven, sitting on a bust of Pallas, seems to further instigate his distress with its constant repetition of the word, "Nevermore." Throughout the poem, Poe makes allusions to folklore and various classical works. Poe claimed to have written the poem very logically and methodically. His intention was to create a poem that would appeal to both critical and popular tastes, as he explains in the follow-up essay: "The Philosophy of Composition". The poem was inspired in part by a talking raven in the novel Barnaby Rudge: A Tale of the Riots of 'Eighty by Charles Dickens.[3] Poe borrows the complex rhythm and meter of Elizabeth Barrett's poem "Lady Geraldine's Courtship". The first publication of "The Raven" on January 29, 1845, in the New York Evening Mirror made Poe widely popular in his lifetime. The poem was soon reprinted, parodied, and illustrated. Once upon a Midnight Dreary, while I pondered weak and weary, over many a dull and forgetful podcast..there was no tapping at the door just the sound of the eleventh episode of This Week in Horror celebrating the works of 'Americas Shakespeare' Edgar Allan Poe. Joining our hosts Matt Raub and Staci Layne Wilson in their Gothic exploration of the man behind The Raven are two people who know the work of Poe intimately. Actor Jeffrey Combs of 'Re-Animator' fame has literally had to get under Poe's skin to play him in the one man show 'Nevermore' which played to sold out audiences over a year ago.
