A music video by Tritha Sinha, the music composition and bengali lyrics written in 2008 in a hot summer night in Paris, recorded by french sound recordist Tim Alazraki. PaGLi talks about the imaginary life of a madwoman on the streets of Kolkata and many simultaneous thoughts touching the thin line between reality and insanity in her mind! The video has been directed and co-edited by Tritha in Paris along with Alazraki in Summer 2011. Shot in 5D by Deval Samanta, Hojo and Dev Satpati in Mumbai and Kolkata Video Footage by Adrien Roche. www.murad.pk Film: Pagli (1943) پگلی Music: Pt Gobindram or Govindram (Gobind Ram) پنڈت گوبند رام Lyricist: Qamar Jalalabadi قمر جلال آبادی Singer: Naseem Akhtar نسیم اختر Naseem Akhtar was younger sister of Sardar Akhtar (wife of famous Indian director Mehboob Khan) and Bahar Akhtar (wife of AR Kardar -- another famous Indian director credited for establishing the film industry of Lahore). Details are sketchy about Naseem Akhtar. She was an established playback singer before partition and sang for major music directors of that era including Khurshid Anwar, Naushad, and Khemchand Prakash. After partition, she migrated to Pakistan. It is said that the last years of her life were spent in poverty.
