Porsche has unveiled the new 2012 Panamera GTS. A Grand Turismo Sport variant of the Panamera, the Panamera GTS comes with a modified 4.8 liter, naturally-aspirated V8 with an output of 430 PS (316 kW / 424 hp) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque. Transmission is the Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) transmitting power to the all-wheel drive system (PTM). The GTS features the Sport Chrono package as standard which helps that power flow without interruption. This makes the Panamera GTS sprint to 100 km/h in under 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 288 km/h (179 mph). Fuel consumption is 10.9 liters/100 km - 10.7 with low roll-resistance tires. Also standard on the Panamera GTS is the adaptive air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with a tauter damping configuration for a sportier ride from this GTS. Wheels are 19-inch rims with tires sized 225/45/R19 at the front and 285/40/R19 at the back. The Panamera GTS goes on sale in February 2012 with prices starting at €116716 in Germany.

While there he met with old friend David Donohue and the two went on a short drive in a Porsche Panamera Turbo. While on the test drive, Donohue taught Jay the proper way to use launch control in the new four dour Porsche. Caught meandering through the German countryside, the prototype could barely outrun the Opels of the locals as the Porsche engineers tested various systems on their new four-door. This time around, however, the Porsche Panamera was in the midst of a real workout when our spy shooters caught up with it at the Nürburgring. Wearing the same heavy camouflage as the first test mule, this prototype doesn't give us anything new to report in the styling department. It's not too hard to guess what this new front-engine, rear-drive sport sedan is going to look like, however, as its basic shape is obvious despite the plastic cladding. Expect the production version to have a slimmer tail section and a less pronounced rear wing, along with a nose that looks more like its 911 cousin. Now that the revised Porsche Cayenne's specifications have been officially released, we know a little bit more about the V8 engines that will find their way into the Panamera. The two vehicles are expected to share the same range of power plants, although the Panamera V8s might get a few tweaks to boost their output slightly. The base engine will be a normally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 with direct fuel injection and Porsche's Variocam Plus variable valve timing. It delivers 385 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque in the Cayenne, so don't be surprised if the Panamera shows up with a nice even 400 <b>...</b>

This "Making of" video takes viewers behind the scenes of a recent Porsche Panamera commercial shoot. The "Family Tree" ad used 50 different Porsche models, with 22 professional drivers on hand to make it happen. In the final version, the cars race around miles of tarmac, all centered around the new Porsche Panamera. By the end of the video, the cars have splintered off to form the shape of a tree, with the Panamera creating "another bold line on the family tree," states the narrator. The shoot for the television ad took three days to complete, with over 160 crew members involved. "Family Tree" was directed by @Radical Media's Jeff Zwart, who specializes in automotive ads. Amongst many other spots, Zwart directed the Hyundai Genesis Coupe commercial featuring Yo-Yo Ma.
