I recently finished Bulletstorm, and it turned out to be a fun and clever shooter which above all impressed with its great-looking, refreshingly colorful environments. The XP/unlock system worked a bit better than expected, too, even though I can't say it always inspired me to be *quite* as innovative in my kills as People Can Fly no doubt would have hoped for.

The chance to fly a Kiwi-invented jetpack will be available in New Zealand early next year. Almost a year to the day after it first got worldwide attention, the Martin Jetpack is back on show at the United States' annual EAA air show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and Christchurch's Martin Aircraft Company is also announcing plans to allow the public to try out a "low, slow" version. Christchurch will be the location for the first business offering jetpack flights, and the company plans to expand with franchises around the world. People will be able to fly a jetpack about a metre above the ground at no more than 10km/h in a carefully controlled outdoor area. The price will be around the same as for adventure activities such as bungy jumping. It will be a far cry from flying at 100km/h, which is the capability planned for the jetpack that will eventually be sold to the public. But Martin Aircraft Company chief executive Richard Lauder told the Herald that any of the 40 or so people who had already tried out the jetpack would say that even low and slow was "incredibly exciting". Based on a concept developed in 1981 by Christchurch inventor Glenn Martin, the jetpack has attracted funding of almost $1.5 million, via the Government's Foundation for Research, Science and Technology. This is the beginning framework of the Enterprise - D in Minecraft ----- I didn't think this would go viral so quickly! It's not even done and on top of that, the Minecraft servers are down so I can't put it up... Some quick answers to some questions. Thanks for all the warm kudos. I'll take some time to tell you guys about how I made the ship and what my plans are for it. I've always wanted to make a 1:1 scale model of the Enterprise-D. Even when I was a kid, I thought how cool it would be to build the ship and live in it. One project I embarked on about a year ago was to build a 1:1 scale model of the enterprise in Sketchup. I got pretty far too. Sadly, my hard drive blew and I lost six months of work. The only thing I had was my original framework and It was just too painful to start over. One of the things that was not lost was the deck plans and a nice computer-friendly vector format, converted from the Whitefire plans (Not the Okuda ones). The plans are pretty rough, but workable. One day I need to go through and clean them up. The Minecraft world uses 1m^3 blocks, ans so, I simply converted my already scaled plans into a format that minecraft could take and imported each deck in batch, leaving 4 spaces in between for walls The original Enterprise is 642.5 Meters x 467.0 Meters x 137.5 Meters. This is about 3m per deck. Sadly, with the 1m deck you have to walk on, that only leaves 2m left over for hallway space. As your character is only 1.7m tall, you will be <b>...</b>

I'm nearing the end of my 20 yr Air Force career as an air mobility pilot. It is with a measure of sadness I leave my beloved KC-135R Stratotanker. I have flown most KC-135 models and it has always come through for me and the mission, even in some tough deployed areas with both air and ground threats. If you can fly the tanker well, you can fly any other heavy platform well too...seen that play out hundreds of times. Every major force projection of the US has tanker support as its backbone and no bombs are dropped, no ordnance is laid down, no cargo or personnel are delivered without it. Many deployments, much time in the desert, and months away from the families are some of the prices paid by its crews and support folks. The tanker mission, like many in our militaries, is only made possible by the sacrifices of many dedicated and talented individuals.
