
"Rapture" is a song and single from the 1980 album, "Autoamerican", by Blondie. The album was released on Chrysalis Records (EMI) and was produced by Mike Chapman. The album peaked at #3 in the UK, #7 in the US and #8 in Australia, with additional Top Twenty positions in several other markets. Two singles, "The Tide is High" and "Rapture, were released from the album and both reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Rapture" was written by Deborah Harry and Chris Stein and was produced by Mike Chapman. The single was released on Chrysalis Records. "Rapture", with it's mix of rock, pop, new wave, hip-hop and rap music, was an international success.
