Primrose Hill - London UK
Primrose Hill is a hill of 256 feet (78m) located on the north side of Regent's Park in north London, England, and also the name for the surrounding district. The hill has a clear view of Central London to the south-east, as well as Belsize Park and Hampstead to the north-west. Like Regent's Park the area was once part of a great chase appropriated by Henry VIII and became Crown property in 1841. In 1842 an Act of Parliament secured the land as public open space.

One of my favourite songs from one of my favourite bands. Uploaded because my friend wanted to listen to it. I have all six albums, and so if anyone wants any classic Madness tracks uploaded, I'd be happy to do requests. Taken from Madness' Fourth Album "Rise And Fall", which is still my favourite album to this day.

Using footage from shortly before its closure in 1992 plus from 2011, by which time the platform buildings had been removed, this film takes a detailed look at Primrose Hill station and some of the issues as to why it closed and why neither it nor the route it is on might not be be reopened to passenger trains. Primrose Hill is the only intermediate station on the link line between Camden Road station on the North London Line and South Hampstead on the local 'all stations' route between Euston and Watford Junction. Electric trains first started using it in 1917, travelling from Broad Street station to (mostly) Watford Junction, although some terminated at Croxley Green instead. In the rush hours as many as 7 trains an hour operated these services, all of which were interleaved with trains that originated at Euston station and Bakerloo Line trains. In addition some trains switched between the North London Line and Watford Junction route at Willesden Junction, travelling via Hampstead Heath station. This was mainly for the benefit of North London Line passengers, as from Watford this route was longer and slower. As part of 'rationlisations' / 'improvements' and with the support of the Greater London Council under the leadership of Ken Livingstone trains which served Broad Street were mostly diverted to Stratford, using a section of railway where passenger services had been suspended during WW2, whilst the Watford Junction trains were routed to Liverpool Street using a <b>...</b>

Hello and welcome to the first episode of LLTV for 2009! As a bitterly cold January came to an end, I was determined to get some footage of London before the month was out. I had planned more filming in January but the poor weather conditions just kept ruling it out. There's only so much freezing cold and mist a video camera can take! However, on the last day of the month, the sun shone weakly through the freezing mists and lifted them enough to persuade me to jump on my bike and cycle to Primrose Hill, an up-market district surrounding the north-east corner of Regents Park. As the episode opens we catch two Sunday League Football (soccer) teams playng in the freezing haze with the BT Tower in the background. We then progress through Primrose Hill itself taking in some park life, the beautiful architecture and the village shops. I say 'village' but of course Primrose Hill is now as much a suburb of London's great sprawl as anywhere else. It is a very pleasant self-contained community of shops and well worth visiting. So welcome to London in 2009 - the LLTV filming schedule is now underway.

Kathe Green - Primrose Hill
Californian actress, model and singer Kathe Green cut the hugely sought after but rare-as-hell long player "Run the Length of Your Wildness" for Deram in 1969 after having appeared in The Party with Peter Sellers. Finding herself in London as guest and bosom buddy of Richard Harris, himself enjoying a spin-off career as a hugely successful pop star at the time, Kathe found herself singing Mark Lester's vocal parts on 'Where Is Love?' for the soon-to-be-massive Oliver soundtrack. She was snapped up by Deram where she was teamed up with in-house whiz-kid producer Wayne Bickerton, arranger supreme John Cameron and the cream of London session players. Run the Length of Your Wildness can't quite make up its mind whether to be pop-folk or Swinging London pop/rock. In that respect, as well as in its Baroque orchestral arrangements it's reminiscent of another late-'60s record, Dana Gillespie's Foolish Seasons — not surprising, as Bickerton produced both albums. The resemblance between the two singers is emphasized by a song that appears on both LPs, 'Tears in My Eyes'. You can throw in some similarities to a few other British female vocalists of the time straddling the lines between pop and folk, like Marianne Faithfull, Vashti Vunyan and (much more distantly) Judith Durham of the Seekers or even Sandie Shaw. Green did write or co-write much of the material on the album, and some of it's above average for this orchestrated British pop-folk-rock genre, particularly 'Primrose Hill <b>...</b>

Exhibition #3, just before the place closed on 13th February 2011. Filming somewhat covert (I just held the camera close in front of me without even looking at the screen) as photography was not permitted. No naughtiness intended by doing so. It was well worth a visit and was a bizarre but intriguing hour.
