It was an evening where talent received its due and that too, at the hands of a jewel-in-the-crown of our country, Bharatratna Lata Mangeshkar. The occasion? Presentation of an award ceremony on Saturday evening, that saw luminaries in various fields such as literature, social service, music and entertainment being felicitated for their contribution to their respective arenas. The programme began with an address by Pt Hridaynath Mangeshkar, following which Lata didi paid respects to her late parents. The awardees were then introduced by compere Mangala Khadilkar. Hariharan expressed his views on the occasion through a quaint couplet. Social worker Naseema Hurjuk spoke about the plight of physically challenged in our country, while noted author Madhu Mangesh Karnik waxed eloquent about his literary memories. The award ceremony was followed by a special music programme called Sur Anandghan to mark Lata didis 81st year, where artistes like Suresh Wadkar, Kavita Krishnamurti, Bela Shende and Radha Mangeshkar rendered some mellifluous numbers. The programme was attended by a bevy of top-notch people including the entire Mangeshkar khandaan (Usha Mangeshkar, Mina Khadilkar, Adinath and Radha); politico Uddhav Thackeray who came with wife Rashmi; Suresh and Padma Wadkar and Roopkumar Rathod.

Tere Mere Sapne (1971) is a movie by Vijay Anand, the brother of Dev Anand. The movie stars Dev Anand, Mumtaz, Vijay Anand, Hema Malini and others.. The Story is based on The novel 'Citadel' by AJ Cronin. Dr. Anand Kumar (Dev Anand), an idealistic doctor with noble dreams, moved towards a small village to help the poor people.
