This happens to be a Remington 870 Express tactical shotgun with an 18.5" barrel, 2 shot magazine extension and a powder coat finish. This rear pistol grip worked great and felt fine. A real plus when converting your Remington 870 Express into a true home defense shotgun. This is a video on choosing a home defense Tactical shotgun, My top choice is a Benelli Super Nova Tactical, but a close second place because its just me talking is a Remington 870 Tactical, However i find that there are a few big problems with the Mossberg persuader design that puts it in third place.

Using the Remington HD "Ultimate Home Defense" 380ACP/102gr./BJHP ammo, the "B" maybe as in Bonded?, it looks very familiar like Remington's Golden Saber product. The test was done with 4 layers of denim and water jugs. The handgun was for this test was the Bersa Thunder 380 and the bullet was shot at a distance of 8 feet/2.66 yards. The bullet passed through 5 jugs and found wedged in the wooden back stop. It's travel of 30" had a chance to open, but failed to do so. Again no denim was discovered inside the hollow point. And no pieces of denim were found in any of the damaged jugs.

This video follows in the direction of building a Remington 870 Express shotgun for your home defense. This video is part two of a home defense series and adds to the prior part one video of showing how to add a rear pistol grip onto your Remington 870 Express shotgun. This forward pistol grip add-on really helps with your grip when cycling the action. I would highly recommend this set up for anyone who doesn't shoot much, but keeps this shotgun for home defense. When in a home invasion situation your hands will be sweaty and you'll be very nervous, this grip set up will help you to keep your hands in the right position and steady your shots. This forward pistol grip felt nice and very smooth to operate. I would however wrap some hockey stick/baseball bat tape on the grips for a little added stickiness for when your hands sweat in a home break-in event. The stickiness helps a lot and can wash off easily.

I attached an ATI telescoping stock with a pistol grip and a shot saddle. Consider getting this as your first gun instead of a handgun (unless you plan to carry). Cheaper, more fun to shoot, and safer and better for home defense.
