The video for The Rev. Peytons Big Damn Bands new song Clap Your Hands was shot in one day in a barn in Indiana. All of the dancers, artists, freaks, weirdos, cowboys, kids, donkeys, bunko steerers, chickens, and regular folks, who are all Hoosiers, all volunteered their time and talent because they believed in the song and the band. The video was directed/produced by the acclaimed music video producer Kevin Custer (Lil Wayne, Soldja Boy, Flogging Molly) who remarked the day of the shoot, it would have cost a fortune to get all of these props back in NYC. To which The Rev. Peyton replied, These arent props they are just crap you find in a barn! A gift cos were r8 sound n all. In truth this was a song that started life in a side project I was doing in the two years ive spent dodging the makers! I thought it was too hard , too synthesiser and noisy guitars to be a makers song. But as the album progressed I thought why not. it kinda fits with where the albums gone. It's on the front foot but I like that and it's up which pretty much sums up the album and where our heads are at right now. The album is almost done. It sounds amazing. It's a load of songs about little situations I see living in Sheffield in 2012 and it's gonna be called @reverend_makers . why? Well the songs are all about things that happen in the now. Nothing seems to sum up the present and the times we live in more than the @ symbol. And well it's more exciting than reverend and the makers by reverend and the makers innit? We were gonna call it out the shadows after one of the songs and then quickly realised it sounded a bit like 'bouncing back' by partridge and promptly changed our mind!!!!
