Forget double battery packs or battery apps. Here are 3 easy steps to increase your 4G Android phone's battery life significantly! Done on a Moto Triumph in this video but originally done with HTC Rezound with awesome increase in battery life. Works on pretty much any phone running Gingerbread including HTC Thunderbolt and Motorola Droid RAZR. 1) Settings--Applications--Manage Apps In the "running" tab" find Maps and "Force Stop." Do this for as many processes you see that you don't use. If your battery life is terrible chances are you have a ton of unused processes running. 2) Get a data on/off widget. Just turn off the 3G/4G radio when you're not using it. This will save you a ton battery life! 3) Get a good task killer like "Gemini App Manager." Use the "one button optimize" button every now and then during the day to kill off unwanted apps. 4) Use the power settings bar widget and turn off GPS and Bluetooth. These two will drain you battery significantly if they are on.

HTC Rezound Unboxing We've already seen the HTC Rezound in action, and the Beats Audio integrated device was music to our ears. Now we're getting a more intimate look at the burly phone, and you know what? We still think it's a device that will turn more than a few heads. The HTC Rezound packs a punch with its snappy 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and Verizon's fast 4G LTE network. So far in our limited use the snappy internals make for a buttery smooth Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) experience. In just a short while Gingerbread will become old hat, though, as the Rezound is shipping Ice Cream Sandwich ready, so users can look forward to that sometime early next year. HTC Sense 3.5 looks beautiful on the device's 4.3-inch 720p display. Yesterday we got our hands on the HTC Sensation XL (which had a 4.7-inch screen), and we absolutely loved the screen, but the Rezound looks to be a good middle ground. You can't tell by just looking at it, but the Rezound is heavy. However, that's not such a bad thing because the soft touch materials feel solid, and the textured back is nice when holding the device one handed. The black and red combo gives the phone a premium, sleek look as well that will evoke past HTC designs. Audiophiles looking for a Beats by Dre experience will be pleased to know that the Rezound packs Beats audio support along with some Beats earbuds for the full experience. After busting out the Running Man and Coffee Grinder while listening to the bass-o-licious Black Eyed Peas on the new HTC Rezound, my thirst for booming bass within the smartphone world had been quenched. Not only did the Rezound dish out the low end courtesy of its Beats Audio integration, but the phone also kicked out some fierce specs, flaunting a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, HTC Sense 3.5 and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. An Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will be available eventually for the Rezound, so have no fear.HTC also hyped the phone's camera. HTC Rezound Review When we got our hands-on the HTC Rezound earlier this month, we came away thoroughly impressed. It's packed with a quick 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, Verizon's 4G LTE and an absolutely stunning 4.3-inch 720p display that gives the Retina variety on the iPhone a run for its money. Two weeks on, and we're happy to report that our opinion of the Rezound hasn't changed in the least. In fact, the device is still surprising us with its quality. While the HTC Rezound isn't the thinnest phone around (13.7mm), it's still a very attractive device. Just as we said during our hands-on, the black and red combo gives the phone a sleek and premium look, and the build materials are top quality. You won't get any of that cheap plastic feel here. With phones like the Droid Razr, Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S II no doubt taking the majority of the spot light this holiday season, the Rezound may unfortunately be a device that goes unnoticed by the masses. For audiophiles, the Rezound is definitely a device to take notice of. Consumers will have some big decisions to make with so many high quality Android phones hitting the market. Are Android phones coming out too quickly? pdog.ws We've seen it make its way around the rumor mill several times, and HTC made it official today at a press event in New York. The HTC Rezound will be the first Beats by Dr. Dre device available in the United States, and will pack a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch HD 720p display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, a front-facing camera, 1620 mAh battery, and Android 2.3 with HTC Sense 3.5. HTC says that the Rezound is Ice Cream Sandwich ready, and it'll be packaged with a pair of Beats headphones when it launches on November 14th for $299.99. It's a hot phone for sure, but it launches in the same timeframe as the Motorola DROID RAZR, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, HTC Vivid, and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. The DROID RAZR is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core TI OMAP CPU and has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display with PenTile technology, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p recording, a front-facing camera, 1780 mAh battery (that's non-removable), and Android 2.3.5 with Motorola's UI. It is powered by a 1.5GHz, dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 1GB of RAM, and comes with 16GB of internal storage and a 16GB microSD card pre-installed. It is a thick and heavy smartphone by today's standards, as it measures 13.65mm thick and weighs 165g. The tapered back aids handling, but there is no hiding the fact that the Rezound is a large phone. Running Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, the Rezound has HTC's Sense 3.5 interface.
