this time i ended up loading a hip hop beat (105 bpm). then i selected a filter/whammy preset (which i had previously created), and started doing the funky guitar thing. the remainder is just some slapping and popping on my graphite-necked Peavey GV bass, strung with LaBella Hard Rockin' Steel strings, gauge 045-130. this is the same description i've used for my "using guitar rig 3 as a loopstation" video, but i think it's useful to give an outline: guitar rig is definitely one of the greatest standalones i've ever happened to use. and it's got lots of features that i find really useful, especially if you plan to use it in solo performances or things like this. in the last few days i finally got the chance to experiment a bit with the "looping machine": well, let me say it's great! you can layer a huge number of loops, and undo or redo each and everyone of them. but the thing i dig most about this digital loop station is that it's got a "tempo sync" button. in this video, i've tried to show the potential of the looping machine.

I wanted to get a 3:42 over 2-laps, but this run just didn't feel quite as satisfying as I'd liked. The key part is, you see ... getting the boost to last from the first water corner, until the downhill right corner with the Max Slams ... on the first lap, I scraped it. I really extended that second Max Boost to make sure the Max Slam was on flat ground haha. However, the same place on the second lap was terrible, I was going to Max Out far too early so I had to include a Stop/Start, which is useful in those situations. Apart from that, there was the obvious mistake that I talked about at the end. Silly little Lucy on the ATV knocked down some metal plates on the final hill, and for some reason, I felt compelled to release the boost, then apply it again, which wasted boost and reduced the speed I could have built there. On the positive side, I had a killer lap conversion with a nice Time Attack move. (Tilting the Rig on that route divide.)

However, it looks as though I won't be making any more videos before I go back to university, so I'm afraid you'll have to make do with this. Sorry about the music and not having engine sound. Sorry about the camera being in the wrong position, I'd just had my bed moved, so this was my first attempt at a new "balanced" position haha. (It must have fallen a little during my attempts.) I will add "NEB" as annotations to let you know when I'm not holding the accelerator, then you can choose to copy the method if you wish. It's not necessarily faster in several places, but for the lap conversion it definitely is.

I'm still working on coming as close as possible to early evh-tone. Any comments are appreciated. I know that soe of the backing tracks are in the wrong key (too lazy to transpose it) and that my guitar is out of tune after the first very few uses of whammy but that comes with standing by the strat :( The settings i use is= Plexi (no mid or bass, bright vol on max, warm on sero, presence and treble at 30%) cab (edge-miked 60' cabs the grey ones with a little smaller than normal size) one tube condenser on each the phaser is not the phase90 i think it emulates the original one too badly so i use the stonephaser instead. The echo is not the tape-echo it's a preset i came up with on my v-amp2 reverb This should be played with a real humbucker but i only have the yjm strat with weak hs3s in it, I'm looking forward to try the preset with a real humbucker soon.

So this is my first attempt to convert the magnetic movement (shown in my first video) into an energy source that can be harvested and used to assist in the process of instigating a repetitive cycle, what i can say at this point is that the friction appears to be at a very low level considering the size and weight of the centre wheel, it would appear that there is little or no load bearing at this early stage. My theory that a magnet can work like a battery seems to be confirming itself, however all the tests that i am doing come to an end now, at least with this Rig. Note: I maybe forgot to mention, once you enable vst plugins in audacity you have to move the .dll file in Guitar Rig into Audacity.
