Studio Version. Lyrics. pics. www.robertaflack.com Strumming my pain with his fingers Singing my life with his words Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly with his song Telling my whole life with his words Killing me softly with his song I heard he sang a good song I heard he had a style And so I came to see him To listen for a while And there he was this young boy A stranger to my eyes Strumming my pain with his fingers Singing my life with his words Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly with his song Telling my whole life with his words Killing me softly with his song I felt all flushed with fever Embarassed by the crowd I felt he found my letters And read each one out loud I prayed that he would finish But he just kept right on Strumming my pain with his fingers Singing my life with his words Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly with his song Telling my whole life with his words Killing me softly with his song He sang as if he knew me In all my dark despair And then he looked right through me As if I wasn't there And he just kept on singing Singing clear and strong Strumming my pain with his fingers Singing my life with his words Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly with his song Telling my whole life with his words Killing me softly with his song [Break] Strumming my pain with his fingers Singing my life with his words Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly with his song Telling my whole life with his words ...

Roberta Flack/ Donny Hathaway - The Closer I Get To You 1978

Remember when Soul Music had artists who made songs so beautiful you would shed tears. Well here is one for your heart , soul and mind when Black Artists made music so deep that the earth would spin on it's axis. Roberta Flack / Donny Hathaway - Where Is The Love (1972)

Studio version. Lyrics. pics. www.robertaflack.com Where is the love You said you'd give to me soon as you were free will it ever be Where is the love? You told me that you didn't love him, and you were gonna say goodbye but if you really didn't mean it, why did you have to lie? Where is the love, you said was mine all mine, till the end of time was it just a lie where is the love If you had had a sudden change of heart I wish that you would tell me so don't leave me hangin on the promises you've got to let me know Oh how I wish I never met you I guess it must have been my fate to fall in love with someone else's love all I can do is wait (that's all I can do) yeah yeah yeah

Roberta Flack - First Time Ever I Saw Your Face 1972 The first time ever I saw your face I thought the sun rose in your eyes And the moon and the stars were the gifts you gave To the dark and the end of the skies The first time ever I kissed your mouth I felt the earth move in my hand Like the trembling heart of a captive bird That was there at my command my love The first time ever I lay with you And felt your heart so close to mine And I knew our joy it would fill the earth And last 'til the end of time my love The first time ever I saw your face Your face, your face, your face

Roberta Flack - Stay With Me

A lovely track from Roberta Flacks' 1979 album "Roberta Flack Featuring Donny Hathaway."According to Wikipedia this album was intended as the second duets album to feature Donny Hathaway and Flack. Hathaway only recorded two songs for this album before his suicide. Flack finished the rest of the record on her own. That's why you only hear her in this song. The song will of course be familiar to Diana Ross fans. She recorded her own version in 1981.

Roberta Flack - Back Together Again

Recorded live in Nagoya, Japan for the Japan TV program 'WoWoW'. Roberta & the band are absolutely on fire in one of my favorite performances! Buddy Williams' pocket is killin'! Roberta loved the mix of Roger Byam's sax & my synths to get that crazy fat horn section sound. The band is: (Left to Right) Gabrielle Goodman, Dennis Collins & on Vocals. Gary Fritz (perc.), (Me) Gene Williams (keys), Buddy Williams (dr), Barry Miles (MD/keys), Ruben Rodriguez (bs) & Phil Hamilton (gtr) & Roger Byam (sax)
