How I put on velcro rollers- and then how I style my hair after taking them out! It's a common look for me. Easy to do! Ice-T - High Rollers
Tracy Morrow (born February 16, 1958), better known by his stage name Ice-T, is an American musician and actor. He was born in Newark, New Jersey and moved to district Crenshaw, Los Angeles, California when he was in the 7th grade. After graduating from high school he served in the United States Army for four years. Runway Hair Using Velcro Rollers
Hi guys! So, according to hair stylists from a magazine I was reading, most runway stylists first curl the hair using a large-barreled iron and THEN set the hair in velcro rollers. As I say in the video, the amount of 'curl' you want really depends on how long you leave the rollers in, as well as how long you hold the hair in the curling iron. I just wanted volume and loose waves/curls, so that's why I didn't keep the rollers in a terribly long time. I would suggest, if you are doing your hair like this for a special event, that you do your hair very early in the day and leave the rollers in for at least an hour. I've done this before and it yields the best results for a 'night out'. This is because throughout the night, despite the hairspray in your hair, the curls will naturally fall. So if you start out with 'stronger' curls, they'll fall more slowly :) The products I used are: Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid -- for a heat protectant 1 1/2 " curling iron (I don't remember the brand...I think it's Babybliss. Yes - that's it. haha) Large velcro rollers by the company Goody you can find them at drugstores; mine were from Shopper's. The next day, I wanted to do a length check so I flat ironed it. My hair type is 70% 4a/b and 30% 3c in my crown area. I wanted my curls very soft so I didn't use setting lotion when my hair was set. I personally adore this look because it's girly but very casual and you can literally wear it for anything. Hyuna & Ga-Yoon (4 Minute) wears this in their latest music video (Volume Up), well it's one of the looks they wears :), side note this may be my favorite song from them! Most people do this look with a hair straightener, and that is still the best way to get the most controlled waves but I really wanted to give you guys other options. I came up with this idea today and I tried it out and loved how natural it looked. I created the waves with a set of hot rollers from: www.flatironexperts.com but like I mention in the video, if you want to save a few bucks or if you don't want to apply so much heat to your hair then you can achieve a similar look by using velcro rollers. I would highly recommend using some sort of hair oil if you do because I find my hair always ends up a little frizzier when I use velcro anything on my hair.
