Romanoff, the former state House speaker, won 60.4 percent of more than 3500 delegates at the Democratic State Assembly, improving on his earlier caucus totals of about 57 percent. Romanoff conjured images of the disastrous British Petroleum oil spreading in the Gulf of Mexico. "It is the result in part of an even bigger slick of oil money that our own party has done little or nothing to clean up," Romanoff said. "The same flood of corporate cash washed away our hopes for a public option, drowned discussion of a single-payer health plan, and watered down the reforms we need on Wall Street. And too many politicians, complicit by their silence, surrender without a fight."

A 1946 movie musical promoting the Canadian navy after the end of World War 2. Romanoff has been known for decades in Canada as a presenter of international music. He was of Ukrainian ethnicity. Here is his first appearance and presentation on screen where he produced a Russian /Ukrainian musical scene. He also directed the English chorale. His name is in the end credits, the second one under Bandsmen. In the scene he starts at the left playing a mandolin. The cast were not soldiers, but Canadian performers drafted to be entertainers. The Video and DVD Guide (2003) by Mick Martin and Marsha Porter writes of it: "This British musical fell into obscurity because the cast contains no star names.That's because they're all from the Royal Canadian Navy revue, a troupe of drafted performers. However, there are enough talented singers, dancers, and funnymen here to make you wonder why none went on to greater success." It rates it 3 stars out of 5. The news is that Ivan did go on. I found this public domain VHS tape at Hollywood's Attic in USA.
