Recruiting Video 1983-84 Royal Marines Band Service.

What a hoot!! I can only imagine Phil's flute playing got better! This is for all those who are fans of loafers and seeing Anrew Thornhill in pain!! You didn't need a degree, the Navy still had ships and went places...and everybody had a moustache! Whatever happened to Tom Crawford and Paul Williamson? Good to see everybody looking so young, and sad to see those no longer with us! Pass the link to somone in the know...and post a comment below.

Royal marines Band Service MFM 2011

Are there no bounds to the versatility of a Royal Marines musician? Here is a clip that shows technical brilliance with a dash (or two) of humour. "The Joyful Skeleton" or in this case skeleton's. Performed by four of the very talented members of the eccentric percussion section.

You may think you wouldn't find a violin in a military band, Well not on parade in a marching band you wouldn't but Royal Marines musicians have to be versatile. This is the supremely talented musician Justin Wilmot playing Brahms: Hungarian Dance No. 5 at this years MFM.

Ok, this clip is part of an Andrew Lloyd - Webber medley arranged by Capt. David Cole. We pick it up at "Music Of The Night" from Phantom and it features a lovely Cor Anglais solo by an unnamed musician. In 15 years of going to MFM's this was the first time we think we had heard a cor anglais being played. Surely not? Who was the soloist?

The very talented Band Corporal HannahTrudgeon playing Rachmaninov: 18th variation from Rhapsodie on a theme of Paganini at this years MFM 2011. Another example of the remarkable musical talent within the Royal Marines Band Service. She is also a very good singer.
