Eydie Gormé is an American singer who still performs with husband Steve Lawrence, whom she married in 1957. She began her career in 1950, performing with Tommy Tucker and Tex Beneke, and released her first recordings the same year. Her last record to hit the charts was Blame It On The Bossa Nova in 1963. Her biggest selling album was a collection of songs in Spanish with the Mexican group Trio Los Panchos in 1964. This selection, Sabor A Mi from the album with Trio Los Panchos, has become her signature song. This album has been re-released several times in both the US and throughout Latin, Central and South America.

The singer Abelardo Barroso Dargeles (Havana, 21 September 1905 27 September 1972) was the first sonero mayor (lead singer of the son) to be recognized as such by the Cuban public. He was the lead singer of the Sexteto Habanero from 1925, recorded with the Sexteto Boloña in 1926, and joined the Septeto Nacional de Ignacio Piñeiro in 1927. With each of these top bands he made a string of recordings in New York,[1] and for the rest of his life his voice was in demand.[2] In 19291930 he joined the stage variety group Salmerón, with whom he toured Spain. Returning to Cuba in 1931, he joined the Orquesta Ernesto Muñoz. In 1933 he founded the charanga LópezBarroso with Orestes López. He appeared alternately with this band and with the Sexteto Universo, and in 1935 founded the Sexteto Pinin. There followed spells with the bands of Andrés Laferté and Everado Ordaz before, in 1939, he joined the important charanga Maravillas del Siglo and performed on Radio COCO. During the 1940s he worked at the cabaret Sans-Souci until 1948, when he directed and sang for the National Police Band. Javier Solís (September 1, 1931, Mexico City, Mexico[1] April 19, 1966, Mexico City, Mexico) was a popular Mexican singer of boleros and rancheras, and film actor of the middle 20th century. Born Gabriel Siria Levario, Javier Solis became known as one of the most recognized Mariachi solo artists in Mexico. Coming from humble beginnings, at a young age Solis had to drop out of school to help support his family. He trained as an amateur boxer for six years with aspirations of turning professional, but quit after his father urged him to choose a more "decent" career. The young man used to sing in local competitions for small prizes (such as a pair of new shoes), but was eventually banned from participating because he so dominated the competition. At age 16, Solis went to Puebla, Mexico to sing with Mariachi Metepec, but it wasn't until years later when Julito Rodriguez and Alfredo Gil of the trio Los Panchos heard him singing at a local bar that he got his first break as a recording artist. They took him to audition with CBS records where he signed a recording contract and cut his first album in 1950. His first hit, "Lloraras," came two years later and prompted his producer Felipe Valdes Leal to give him the name Javier Solis. In the late 1880s off the coast of Africa, a young couple and their infant son escape a burning ship, ending up on land near uncharted rainforests. The couple craft themselves a treehouse from their ship's wreckage. The couple are killed by a savage leopard named Sabor. Kala, a gorilla whose own son was eaten by the vicious leopard, hears the cries of the orphaned infant, and finds him in the ruined treehouse. Kala is attacked by Sabor, who wants to kill and eat the baby, but Kala manages to get her tangled in the ropes holding the derelict rowboat, and she and the baby escape. The kindly Kala takes the baby back to the Gorilla troop to raise as her own, despite her mate Kerchak's disapproval. Kala raises the human child, naming him Tarzan. Though he befriends other gorillas in the troop and other animals, including the young female gorilla Terk and the male elephant Tantor, Tarzan finds himself unable to keep up with them, and takes great efforts to improve himself, including occasionally fashioning crude tools, to put him on par with the other gorillas. As a young man, Tarzan is able to kill Sabor with his crude spear and protect the troop, earning Kerchak's reluctant respect.
