"May Peace Be Upon You, and Upon You Be Peace. As-salaam Aleikum, Wa Aleikum As-salaam. Shalom Aleichem, Aleichem ha Shalom. Salaam, Nameste, Shalom, Bring Peace." Christian, Jewish and Muslim children sang this chant with "all their hearts" at the Desert Wind Studios. Originally written for and sung in 2009 at the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, UT for an Interfaith Musical Tribute, this chant has quickly spread throughout peace loving communities. First Nation drummers Jeff Reddoor and Adrian Lambrinos joined Alan Scott Bachman on Keyboards, Emmy award winning bassist Harold Carr and Native American flutist Andalin to memorialize this chant. The Hebrew words of this song say, "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, nor shall they study war anymore." In order to properly represent the Sephardic tradition of the Jewish faith, and with intention, Desert Wind combines musicians of various faiths and ethnic backgrounds in seeking the common thread.

This was our tribute to Undercover and the 77s, I guess. Recorded live at a nightclub called Characters in January of 1992. Our friend and local music guru Scooter Leslie got the gig for us. The place is a strip club today. This performance was caught on tape by some of my buddies from TeleCable of Greenville. Matt Jones, Eric Mitchell and Scott Migliorisi were the camera ops; I did the editing. Tommy Allen came up and did the impromptu guitar grab during "Ba Ba Ba Ba." The Promise was a Christian "Alternative Rock" band based in Greenville, SC from 1989-1992. The band consisted of Drue Bachmann on bass and vocals, Scott Bachmann (that's me) on keyboards and vocals, Kevin Heuer on drums and Joel McCreight on guitars and vocals.
