BACKGROUND: In an effort to serve the City of San Diego, over 575 Rock Church volunteers mobilized in Serra Mesa for a day of clean-up, landscaping, painting and much more to revitalize Serra Mesa Park and Recreation Center and the surrounding area. This event is part of the Do Something World service campaign. Miles McPherson founded the "Do Something World" campaign to bring people together and take action to directly transform the lives of the people and City of San Diego, and the world. The Rock Church donated 706313 hours of Do Something World volunteer hours in 2010, with an estimated valued of $11.2 million* internationally with 228765 hours of these hours given directly to the City of San Diego, saving over $4 million*. Pastor Miles McPherson, a former San Diego Charger, founder of the Rock Church, and author of DO Something: Make Your Life Count, recognizes the effects of the economic crisis on San Diego park and recreation facilities and the role individuals can play in helping alleviate such financial burdens. *Median wage calculated by O*Net® If you're interested in being a part of the Do Something World Campaign, visit: www.dosomethingworld.org, http orcall: 619.226.7625 Sunday Service Times 8AM * 10 AM * 12 PM * 5 PM * 7 PM Children's Ministry (K-5) 8 AM * 10 AM * 12 PM * 5 PM Special Needs care is available at the 10 AM service.
