Scenes from the 2008 Keith Whitley Fan Gathering in Sandy Hook, KY-8/30/08
No one was in the mood to have their pictures taken, but here it is, anyway, photos and video footage from the 2008 Keith Whitley fan gathering held at the Laurel Gorge Heritage Center in Sandy Hook, KY back on August 30th, held in conjunction with the local Tobacco Festival. Included in the video are pictures of Keith that were included in the exhibit and some exhibits new to this year donated to the center by the Highlands Center & Discovery Museum in Ashland, KY. Also, Bill Arnold is featured in the video discussing the subtle differences in the cover art of the 1st & 2nd pressings of his 2003 CD "One Lucky Man," in his own unique way. Music featured on the video is "That's Where I Want to Take Our Love" by Keith Whitley from his 1991 OOP CD "Kentucky Bluebird," and "Hands of Time" from Bill Arnold from his aforementioned CD "One Lucky Man." Yet another thank you goes out to Josh for mad bird-playing skills and for bringing his iPod. Quote of the Day honors belong to Mrs. Flo Whitley, director of the Laurel Gorge Heritage Center, who was heard from her office saying, "Looks like there's more going on out there than just Keith Whitley." Flo, you are more than just a pretty face!
