Simon Faithfulls Escape Vehicle no.6 started as a live event commissioned by The Arts Catalyst for its 2004 Artists Airshow. Once the apparatus had disappeared into the sky, they then watched a live video relay from the weather balloon on a giant screen as it journeyed from the ground to the edge of space (30km up). Now presented as a non-live video work, the footage shows the chair first rush away from the fields and roads, ascend through clouds and finally (against the curvature of the earth and the blackness of space) begin to disintegrate. The chilling nature of the film is that the empty chair invites the audience to imagine taking a journey to an uninhabitable realm where it is impossible to breath, the temperature is minus 60 below and the sky now resembles the blackness of space.

I played the Moog Satellite with the Roland DEP-5 multi effects processor (for hall and delay). The Moog Satellite is the successor of the rare Minitmoog (not Minimoog). The European Space Agency is set to green light a new surveillance satellite that will measure man-made carbon emissions from space in order to "hunt down" violators of international climate agreements, allowing Big Brother to enforce a future tax on CO2 emissions. Labeled CarbonSat, the satellite system will have the ability to differentiate between natural carbon emissions and man-made CO2 releases. Earlier this month, the ESA announced that it had contracted space company Astrium to develop the satellite, which will be ready for deployment by 2017. The system incorporates 7.3 Klipsch surround sound and a 30000:1 contrast ratio JVC RS2 projector. The projector fires through a port in the wall and is mounted on a hanging bracket in the garage. This allows ample breathing room and a quiet environment for the theater room. The remote dock was designed to be backlit when the system was on, giving the occupants a visual indicator that the system was in fact on during warm up times,or source switching. The placement of the speakers follow the "Golden Triangle" rule which includes the surround speakers located in the drop down ceiling. The drop down ceiling was nessicary due to the location of the studs and the Golden Triangle rule for speaker placement. The overhead surrounds are EXCELLENT for reproducing "Fly over" effects in movies and the rear speaker locations are at the exact same height as the front sound stage. This creates a stunningly realistic experience when watching movies,and with three subwoofers totaling 30'' of cone area,you will be blown back into your seat if <b>...</b>
