De gemeente Heerde ligt op de Veluwe, dat het grootste laaglandnatuurterrein van Noordwest-Europa is. In het westelijk deel van onze gemeente ligt een uitgestrekt bos-, heide- en heuvelgebied. Staatsbosbeheer heeft hier verschillende reservaten in beheer. Het grootste reservaat is de Renderklippen, een prachtig heidegebied, omzoomd door een lange rij heuvels. In het midden van deze fraaie omgeving staat de schaapskooi waarin een grote kudde heideschapen is gehuisvest. Ze trekken rond onder leiding van een herder. De schapen maken zich nuttig door dit kwetsbare heidegebied af te grazen. Zo houden ze een Veluwse traditie in ere en blijft de natuur in stand. Natuurgebied de Dellen is zeer vogelrijk. Het landgoed was eigendom van de patriot Herman Willem Daendels Na zijn dood in 1850 kwam het landgoed in handen van de familie Buys Ballot. De schaatsbaan in Engelbert ging woensdagmiddag open en ook op het grasveld bij het Bernouilliplein in de Korrewegwijk kan worden geschaatst, nadat op het grasveld water was gepompt. De ijsbaan bij de Klinkerstraat in Lewenborg gaat zaterdag open. Deze is dit jaar voor het eerst op initiatief van bewoners aangelegd. Mits de vorst doorzet kan vanaf vrijdag ook op de baan in Hoogkerk geschaatst worden. De verwachting is dat komend weekend het ijs van enkele vijvers en meren ook genoeg bevroren zijn om op te schaatsen. One of Beethoven's few works of program music, the symphony was labeled at its first performance with the title "Recollections of Country Life". This movement, entitled by Beethoven "By the brook," is held to be one of Beethoven's most beautiful and serene compositions. It is in a 12/8 meter and the key is B flat major, the subdominant of the main key of the work, and is in sonata form. At the opening the strings play a motif that clearly imitates flowing water. The cello section is divided, with just two players playing the flowing-water notes on muted instruments, with the remaining cellos playing mostly pizzicato notes together with the double basses. Toward the end of the movement, in the coda that begins at measure 124, there is a cadenza for three woodwind instruments that imitates bird calls at measure 130. Beethoven helpfully identified the bird species in the score: nightingale (flute), quail (oboe), and cuckoo (clarinet).
