Arts and technology collective seeper baked a giant interactive Pi for the 2008 Glastonbury Festival. The filling being the audience. They asked: If there is no beginning and no end, then what? their answer Pi, Pie or a circle? In this instant a 16 metre round Big Top tent in the festivals Trash City area, that responds to the motion of the people within it. Standing inside the Pi people were tracked by cameras and saw a silhouette of themselves on the walls of the space. As they moved photons, plasmas and other particles radiated from them and were sent flying around the space. Their movement also controlled sound as one of a series of instruments. Scratching a beat, playing a bass or strumming strings made the audience not only the filling but also the players, conductors and composers of their own collective Pi. More info: www.seeper.com

As part of the Decode exhibition at the Victoria & Albert museum, seeper designed a platform for collaborative music creation. The sequencer allowed users to play, program and modulate a wide variety of instrumentation. Inspired by the film, the British Film Institute in South Bank, London, hosted an event to show film enthusiasts how the multi-touch interface could be created for real, rather than as a post-production effect. seeper were asked to create an installation that would 'wow' passes by and grab their attention, engaging them with the popup stand, holding their attention and intriguing them to find out more. We responded with an airtouch game. By tracking the public's direction and velocity of movement as they passed by the stand, the installation reacted to grab their attention. First with sound then with vision and finally with a simple and intuitive, rewards based interactive game.
