Sunday is the first day in a week of mourning in Poland for the 96 victims of the tragic plane crash in western Russia. The plane which was carrying the Polish delegation in their last trip was a popular Soviet-era model Tupolev-154. Details have been given of the investigation into last month's fatal plane crash, which killed the Polish president and high-ranking officials. In total 96 people died when their jet came down as it tried to land in Smolensk in Western Russia. Polish and Russian Investigators have revealed non-crew members were in the cockpit of Presidential Tu-154 and that 'non-crew voices' heard on recording.

The body of the wife of Poland's late President has been returned to Warsaw where she will lie in state next to her husband. Throughout the day, thousands are expected to file past the two coffins to pay their final respects. The funeral of the first couple, believed to be planned for Sunday, will also commemorate the other 94 who died in the plane crash in western Russia last weekend.

After some unsuccessful attacks an extraordinarily unit was joined the battle. The Germans threw a massive fire on it, but the Russian soldiers as if didn't felt it. They were the fighters of a Russian engineer storm-brigade. In addition to the body armor, they were equipped with automatic assault rifles, anti-tank anti-material rifles and grenades. They also were worn in camouflage. Despite squally fire the 'panzer infantry' quickly closed to enemy and open the close fighting. "Now the hill was captured literally during an hour. That hill was inaccessible during two weeks. During the attack the brigade lost only 2 combatants killed and 19 wounded". Until the end of the War, only 15 such units were established. They were the Lead Commander reserve and appeared where the regular infantry proved to be unsuccessful. However, those storm-brigades couldn't become the basis of Red Army. "It clipped the tops of the trees, crashed down and broke into pieces," Antufiev told Russia-24 television. Rafal Kiepuszewski, a journalist monitoring the situation in Poland, said the news came as a shock to the Polish people. "The fact that much of the Polish political establishment appears to have been wiped out on this single flight has really come as a profound shock to the Polish nation," he said.
